Finland has deployed coronavirus-sniffing dogs at the Nordic country’s main international airport in a four-month trial of an alternative testing method that could become a cost-friendly and quick way to identify infected travelers.

Four dogs of different breeds trained by Finland’s Smell Detection Association started working Wednesday at the Helsinki Airport as part of the government-financed trial.

Great idea! I am concerned that other countries are taking testing seriously and here in the UK anyone can just walk in undeterred!

Not exactly, (re here in UK anyone can just walk in undeterred) See: gov.uk/uk-border-control

Good job as long as the poor dogs don't get sick.

I heard one of the research scientists on World Service talking about this today. She said the test results from the dogs were amazing, they got 100% right, also they said (sorry barked) some as positive, which the normal tests said were negative, the scientist said the dogs were most probably correct, not the medical tests!!!

She did say people from the UK and other countries were in touch and following the results.
