Woke at 5 am a. Hot and sticky but couldnt breathe. Leapt up Took over half hour to calm down . No reason ,nor a bad dream. Was this a panic attack.? If so my first and why.? Usually when i get out of breath it does take 20 mins to get back to normal and lack of exercise doesn't help.

Sometimes you can have dreams and not always remember them . Whatever has happened has obviously upset you .

Just rest up and if it happens again speak to your GP or nurse..

Take care 💜

Thanks. I couldnt think what might have caused it.

I think it's more likely to have been a combination of a hot stifling sweaty night coupled with maybe a bad dream and thinking about the weird situation caused by the virus set that off. If it was anything more serious you wouldn't have been able to pull yourself together so quickly. It's your first and probably your last, unless you start worrying about it. 🙂😘

I get what has been termed sleep paralysis where my body feels paralysed and I feel like I can’t get out or breathe. Apparently it can happen in sleep before wakening It’s not nice. It only lasts maybe a minute but feels like an eternity. Scares me ever time. I’ve read that I must try to breathe slowly and calmly 😱 not easy when it’s happening. Take care x Anita

That sounds horrible . Does it happen often? The first time must have been so frightening.

Do you take gabapentin? Or any medication? I wake up like this always, if I haven't taken gabapentin!! If I could have my time back I NEVER would have gone to the doctor for help unless it was life-threatening
