Roflumilast (trade names Daxas and Dalliresp) was approved in June 2010 by the EU for severe Copd associated with chronic bronchitis. It is said to prevent exacerbations. NICE’s guidance became final in July 2017 and it’s since been prescribed following a strict criteria. As with all medications there are several contraindications including weight loss. I looked into it several years ago but decided against it because my husband has emphysema rather than chronic bronchitis and the contraindications were off putting. There’s lots of info online about it.

I think it sounds like a very helpful medication if it agrees with you as exacerbations cause further damage to the lungs so if Roflumilast prevents these you can slow the progression of your COPD.

Take care

Many thanks for that .I have a telephone meeting coming up with the specialist mid August and need to ask the right questions.
