Children &259 to attempt to boost the economy.

Apparently not for online use.

Yes I've just read that can't see it happening though can you .It's a proposal to boost your local economy it would do us £500 each just bewilders me where all this magic money is borrowed from ..Does anyone know how this borrowing we do works who is it that has such deep pockets to lend us billions I'd like to see if related 😎

I see it as a confidence trick. People usually cannot wait to spend money, money they have not got yet, thinking they will be getting this. It won't be a Gov debt, it will end up being a personal debt. As Boris said ""Go out and spend, spend, spend"

Give mine to the NHS, I will not be going out anywhere to spend it anyway.

So assume that there 49 million adults in the UK

answers.com/Q/How_many_adul...

49 million times £500 = £24,500 millon or in round figures £24.5 Billion.

Plus 20 million children x £250 = £5,000 million or in round figures £5 Billion

A grand total of £29 .5 Billon. Plus of course "administative fees"

Can anyone believe that happening?

Nope I can't we have enough debt to pay back as it is . I don't know where the papers gets this garbage from .

The Welsh government planned to give £500 to social and care workers but was told by HMRC that it would be taxable. Perhaps they want to tax the ‘gift’ to get their (our) money back.

If and that is a big if they decide to make this payment it should be tax free. It is not like they don't deserve it. There is a word for them namely, "shysters"

The Welsh government are furious and trying to sort it out. I hope they do.

You Know what they say " if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is"

One way or another we all will have to pay for the massive amount of cash being handed out , higher taxes VAT ?

Mad - if its not fake news or bent factual information, the money should be going to the NHS.

or in support of benefits to those who have suffered real hardship as a result of being laid off work etc.

If it cannot be used on line, then they will be penalising those of us who are ill/disabled and housebound. We have enough problems already.

Couldn’t agree more SORREHIPPO, most members on here won’t feel safe going into shops or restaurants, I know I won’t be going anywhere near them, I use ambulatory oxygen so would be exempt from wearing a mask, but I wouldn’t feel safe going anywhere indoors without wearing one, plus the fact I don’t drive, so I wouldn’t be able to go anywhere without public transport and I definitely wouldn’t feel safe on a bus without a mask, so until a vaccine is available I won’t be going anywhere!

Thinking about you going out, when you absolutely have to, would one of those face screens (fit round high on the forehead, and then down to chin level), allow for the tubes of the oxygen? If so better than nothing. I was thinking, for me, if have emergency to hospital (only way I can get out at present is 2 then wheelchair or carry chair) I might feel safer in an A&E dept, than wheezing in a mask.
