Hope everyone is well.i work in a supermarket.someone in another department got the virus.they sent people home who worked with that person for quarantine.no one knows who that person is.i told 3 customers today to back up and keep 6 feet away from me.i have COPD it never bothers me .I started taking 1 puff of my inhaler everyday even though I don't need it.why I do this ,fear and anxiety.i am having a hard time with stress.only way I can deal with this is to do some cannabis oil everyday to calm down.going to work is becoming unbearable.i wear gloves wash my hands but they won't let us wear a mask.my hands started drying out from all the washing so I use aloe so they won't crack and bleed.damed if u do damed if u don't.even though my breathing is fine and I can do anything with no problems my.fear of.this.virus and what it could do to my lungs is overwhelming.this is not living folks.how do I chill with this.my job is killing me with stress but I have to work

my daughter advises an occasional cough to keep people at bay. ramp it up if they don't take heed.

but then you'll get a sore throat from the coughing, which won't do your anxiety any good.

have you looked into getting the 80% of wages the government have promised?

try having a word with your gp, maybe get a sick note?

wishing you strength to get through this, and hoping someone will wake up fresh and dainty and have better suggestions to help.

Lots of this is going on over here in the U S. Virtually everyone has been put on a stay home order by government mandate- EXCEPT grocery clerks and healthcare workers. Grocery store close to me employee got it so they shut down the store til they feel it safe to reopen. Our government luckily is going to send us all money( believe it when it’s in my hand). You’re lucky so far. I usually don’t have lotta symptoms w/my CoPD either but as of last month been coughing my head off! No fever and not too worried about the COVID so much as I am just the CoPD & Emphysema trashing my lungs. Try vaseline on your clean hands, it creates a barrier between you and surfaces( so your hands don’t dry out so much also you can put glove over it. You can’t wear a mask? I’m shocked, it’s almost standard attire here. Or people tying bandanas around face. I have not as of yet since I don’t go out like I’m accustom. Please be careful drink A LOT of water they say it helps your immunity, best of luck to you

Hi hope132, what can you do? It’s the same here too. Our supermarkets are marking out the floor to keep social distancing in place, they have screens at checkout, and wipes for trolleys. No masks though so far as I know.

Your system is so different to ours because you don’t get paid if you don’t work. I just hope you can stay safe and well.

Thinking of you. Keep washing hands, using gloves and the aloe Vera. I use that because my hands are cracked and bleeding too.
