The Storm.

Bye 'eck but what a storm that was

That has just passed us by

Clouds kept rolling rolling past

In that dark and gloomy sky

The rain was just like stairs rods

Horizontal like they sit

Makes seeing very difficult

When the wind-screen wipers quit

But I'm here in my Aygo

Cosy as can be

On my way to a luncheon date

At a local pub you see

Midge usually likes these trips out

When we go on a roam.

But this time and I don't know why

She decided to stay at home!

Perhaps Midge stayed at home because he had the wind up. 😁😁😁👍👍

in reply to Pantani

Being a female she has places she doesn’t like the wind up. 😂

Excellent as always Don. Hope you’ve had a lovely day in spite of the weather. Xxxx😘

in reply to sassy59

It was very pleasant thanks, Carole, few trees down and roads flooded to add interest to an excellent meal on arrival.

That’s lovely Don and good to hear. Such a horrible day weather wise and still blowing a gale here. Take care xxxx😘

I dont blame her. Brave of you Don, to brace yourself to go out to lunch. Lots of trees have blown down in the village where I live. I hope the wind eases tonight. Keep warm, keep well and give your little Midge a cwtch in case she's afraid of the wind. Chrys

We are quite sheltered here with no big rivers running through and the sea well contained. I’m only just realising how bad it was, and still is, around the country.

Obviously a very sensible dog!

Scruff's is pacing up and down she wants to go outside

Perhaps a toilet call that all cats like to hide

Better she wisely thinks i wait a while instead

And then she just forgets that call and sleeps on her slaves bed

The moral of the story is that unless you really need to go

There is always the litter tray or other places Ski's don't know. :)

😂 Scruff, the cat with character 😺and her rhyming slave. 😀

A wise move by Midge 🐕 The storm is due to continue today and tomorrow here, in fact it looks like it's going to be even windier. I hope you both got through it all ok (and you had a good lunch) 🍝

in reply to HungryHufflepuff

We tend to miss the worst effects of storms in this area HH you must be getting much worse up there. I can’t believe how much time the BBC news is giving to back slapping celebrities (?) when I’m trying to see just how bad it has been around the country. 🙄 I did enjoy my lunch, thank you, I don’t get to see my daughter as often as would like. Stay safe.

Morning Don,Hope Midge is ok and managed to go for a wee. So glad you enjoyed your Meal & getting to see your Daughter. The wind here(Midlands) has lessened, but this Morning when Looking out side My Lovely Heavy Wooden Bird Table is at the end of the Garden along with The Wheely Bins. Yesterday afternoon the Big Glass patio Table had Blown over, no Glass broken, All the Saved Potted Plants(on the Table) where strewn amongst the Compost, which became slimey Mud with the Heavy Rain. Though the temperature has not been Cold. Just a Windy Time for All, Have a Good Monday Don & Midge. Hugs. C. XXX

I'm lucky again there too. Last month I had the fence on one side of my garden replaced, 25 panels which cost me a fortune and I had been moaning about, until that storm hit. Not a bit of damage out there. 😊x

Don. Whitby scampi .

I can buy those in my local Sainsburys but it is not the same as eating them in Whitby. Lovely place . My parents lived there in retirement and my sister does still, bkut cant do the long haul on M62 from west to east any more.

You have a very wise friend there Don, I am sure Midge enjoyed her snooze at home. Good to hear that you had a nice lunch out with your daughter.

One of my neighbours has a huge conifer crash onto his roof yesterday morning and I havent slept a wink worrying about the other two coming down, the winds are still very strong here at the moment, never known them to last so long x

in reply to Izb1

I do hope they hold, there's been a tremendous amount of damage around the country, I didn't realise how bad it was until the news this morning, here in my sheltered spot. x

Midge is one wise dog. 🤔
