Bronchiectasis or COPD wrong diagnosis

Horrified to read frankie767 post and the replies re wrong diagnosis. I was only diagnosed with Bronchiectasis 3 years ago following CT which showed lesions having been diagnosed with emphysemia around 10 years prior. Following my copd consultant putting me on antibiotics and me not getting any better I telephoned to try to speak with her and was put through to a nurse practitioner who arranged for me to see a specialist Bronchiectasis consultant and the appointment is for next week. I am also having problems getting reasonably Priced travel insurance so will be asking what it is I have. Will keep you posted. Agree about ex smokers being condemned. I have not smoked for 20 years but still they blame it for my chest problems.
