Getting up in the morning.

I wake up in the morning

Wondering in a fright

What happened to that fellow

That went to bed last night

My eyes are all blocked up

I can hardly see

I don't know who this fellow is

It surely can't be me

The coughing and the spluttering

The back stuck to the bed

Mouth like in a bird cage

And a bad pain in my head.

I stagger to the bathroom

And when I come back out

I've turn back into myself again

What's all that about??

I know the feeling Don ,as usual youve hit the nail on the head.👍

Apart from gooey eyes and coughing you’ve just described me Don. No idea what it’s all about but love your take on life.

Xxxx😂😘💖💕💝❤️

in reply to sassy59

The gooey eye thing is relatively new due to the numerous eye drops I have to put in for gluacoma. They also give me black eyes which cause people to ask what the other fella is like thinking I’ve been in a punch-up. Panda Don xx

Oh that’s not nice Don. I’m sure the other fella would have come off worse anyway. Lol.

Take care Panda Don. 🐼 xxxx

I use eye drops too Don, nose spray and artificial saliva, for Sjogren's (pronounced show grins). Flipping bad enough being poorly, without not being able to spell/pronounce the thing. 😒

in reply to

One of my eye drops is marked 'not to be taken by mouth' and I thought what a stupid thing to say, who would be daft enough to do that as I missed by eye with a drop and it ran down my cheek into my mouth!

in reply to

I do that all the time :-)

Oh! how we all relate to your rhymes Don, you put it down so well. It does seem to take longer and longer to come round though. I think it must be the winter as I dont feel quite so bad in the summer x

in reply to Izb1

At least there’s no cold lino to have to step out on and ice on the inside of the windows as was normal at one time.

And chilblains! Certainly don’t miss those old days

in reply to Oshgosh

Ouch! It hurts to even think of those. Where did they go you don't hear of them now?

I think they were rendered obsolete by central heating

Can't we all relate to that? It could be any one of us I would imagine. Take comfort Don, your little lodger doesn't care what you look like, he loves you just as you are. Cheers, Chrys

in reply to RoadRunner44

Midge is a female, Chrys, and has learnt to stay in bed longer in the winter to give the heating system time to get the bedroom warm. 🙂

Sensible little girl is Midge! I remember when I was young around 7 years old, bedrooms weren't heated then., and the Winters were bitterly cold. My mother would call me to get up for school. Having to leave that warm bed was criminal. I used to count to 10 to pluck up coursge, then get up quickly, and, run down the stairs into the bathroom to have a quick wee. In the meantime my mother was lighting the coal fire and drawing it with a newspaper. I forget how many times it caught fire with me screaming that the house was going to burn down. Oh such memories Don.

in reply to RoadRunner44

Drawing the fire with newspaper brings back memories. I do miss my open fires, but what an inefficient way of heating that was. Mind you, toast has never tasted the same.

Simple solution Master...........don't get up until the afternoon and the old you will return as before.

Grasshopper...busy in the temple :) x

in reply to skischool

I’ve lost the art of staying in bed. I didn’t have any trouble when my wife used to bring me my breakfast in bed, to keep me from getting under her feet.😟

Breakfast in bed, gosh you were spoiled rotten by Margaret and i bet you can't train Midge to do the same.more likely she brings her breakfast into your bed. :)

in reply to skischool

No that's true, I got trodden on many times before Margaret made her decision.🙁

Good evening Mr.D and a mighty fine rhyme that was, something we surely all go through as we get older. I have to admit that just yesterday i caught sight of myself in a small mirror and i don't mind telling you, i was not impressed. This womsn looked older than her years(a bit like.my lungs😂) and looked fraill and had lots of worry lines to-boot😂😂😂!!

🐿💕💕

in reply to SquirrelsHolt

I’ve reduced the amount of lighting in my bathroom for that very reason.😉x
