Love the services At church. We seemed to be there since advent some days twice but worth it. Know what you mean about the waistline I have not stopped eating.think I'm eating my hubby's share as he has had a rotten cold since christmas eve so lost his appetite.

Happy New Year xx

Me too. Someone has to eat all those lovely boxes of chocolates and biscuits which have somehow magically appeared in our house!

I have two more services to play for tomorrow, and our church ends the 12 days of Christmas with our Epiphany Party on Epiphany Sunday - lots of local turns and a bring and share tea. Great fun!

Where I used to live the whole 12 days of Christmas were celebrated, ending with the Kings cake on Epiphany. To me it seems a pity to end the celebration on only the second day of Christmas. Not that I did much by way of festivities this year, having only 2 days off work and being quite sad, though strangely on Christmas Eve I was crying alone in my house and feeling quite unhappy when there was a loud bang on my roof followed by footsteps. I kid you not. I'm sure there are all kinds of logical explanations but I'm convinced it was Santa and his reindeer.

At church last Sunday we were told about different Christmas traditions from various countries. Somewhere that I can't remember they have a 60 day advent. That would be a very big advent calendar!

Get your roof checked HH, could be you have lost a slate or two. Why so sad, put on some music and sing at the top of your voice, it does you good and chases away the blues. This is the fist Christmas I have EVER spent alone and apart from missing my family, I quite enjoyed it, think the fact that I didnt have to consider anybody else brought out my selfish streak, could eat, sleep and do whatever, whenever, I didnt even get dressed. Perhaps being so tired all the time helped me to not feel bored or lonely, which I may have done otherwise. When working i only ever got the stat holidays so had to cram everything into those two days, that is one of the great things about being retired. Hope you are feeling a little better today x

I love listening to the Christmas carols and seeing the crib scene. Sadly for my body I too have eaten forbidden foods and drinks over Christmas. Enjoy the rest of the season x
