Hey Paul it’s ok as for some people this is a miserable time of year. Can you sit quietly and calmly and try and focus on something you like or enjoy, try and relax starting at the top and working your way down.

We’re here for you so don’t forget that. You will be alright just take your time. Xxxx

Hi,many of the problems you post about could be related to copd but are usually more evident when the condition is far more severe than your current diagnosis.

I suspect that there is a high degree of health anxiety associated with your symptoms as you mentioned how miserable they make you feel and also that you are currently taking medication for anxiety and depression and perhaps more help with managing that could be the answer to your problems.

Wishing you the best in overcoming your discomfort.

Me too Are you miserable or just look it ? People say cheer up and it makes me feel worse? I look miserable, it is the way my face is . Even when smiling and laughing . Need a mouth transplant to give me a permanent happy smile. Can't do anything else about it!^^

I wont say cheer up. It is so annoying but try to find something you have been happy about and think of that. Some place , some person , some event. It does make life easier

Best wishes

Hi Paul, you will not be alone in feeling like this. I experienced depression a few years ago and unless one has experienced what it's like how can they be expected to understand? You feel so miserable and yet feel guilty for feeling like it as there others, you know are far worse off than us. It still doesn't alter the fact how WE feel at this time. All I can say is, this feeling you have won't last forever. Keep remembering that and keep venting your feelings to us, your friends, who understand what you are going through. Keep in touch and try and focus on the more simple pleasures of life and take each day as it comes. Thinking of you. My best wishes, Chrys

Hi Paul please don't worry about feeling the way you do, it can be such a lonely timer of the year especially for on their own, but there is always someone here you can chat to so please do. Never feel you are on your own. You have a good evening and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx

So what! You will be amazed at how many people have personal experience of somebody with lung disease. If you let them know of your condition, they will invariably accept you and have patience with you. I often cannot , invariably, speak a whole sentence without taking a breath, yet I am accepted for my disability for those that know me, as at my local pub after walking there, totally destroyed by being short of breath, yet they understand and will have my pint brought over to me with payment to follow when fit to do so. Mind, that that is a 2 1/2 mile walk with a lung function of 28%.

There is nothing to be ashamed of, to admit that you have a big problem, people do understand having come into contact of family or friends that have the same problem, it is a lot more common than you realise.

The misery that you experience is just in your own mind, thinking that you are alone, yet it is further from the truth than you realise, make the effort "to get out there" and you will find that some, maybe not all, will know just what you are going through.

Hi Paul, 👋

It's definitely not easy to feel cheerful or good when you don't feel very healthy. We all have a whinge when we need to , I know I do. And no-one here minds at all. Winter can be so very downing. But you aren't alone. We are all always here for support and a little banter. 😊

Very best wishes,

Cas xx 🍀

Hi Paul, I woke up this Morning, it made me Happy, But I do Understand your Feeling. We all have many days like this and we are so Good at Hiding it behind fixed smiles, to Let our Beloved ones Think we are OK. Our Condition & Medications play a huge dilemma on our Appearance. Your not alone Paul. Sending a Hug. Have a Lovely New Year. Keep Smiling, even though you don't want to, It gets Easier xxxx

Agree with all above comments ! best thing I ever did was to explain and share my condition with friends and my two girls x I live alone yet am constantly saying to visitors not today I’m having a bad day and they totally understand . yep I get sad and lonely we allowed to Paul as with our illness it’s a life changing illness ! keep going m8 regards Davy boy x

You can't help how you feel Paul, been there plenty of times myself.

Dear Paul

I just wanted to say your not alone at all. I wont say I know how you feel just that i often have days where I feel really low but my smile hides the pain.

Since sharing my thoughts with BLF. It has helped. So continue to share knowing we all care.

Keep strong

X x😊
