Sorry you are going through hell right now. Playing the waiting game is hard. When I was not allowed to eat for 24 hour's it was difficult before and after. Thankfully I had no problems. Maybe the results needs a GP to go through not a nurse as that happened to me
Hope your feeling better and get results soon .. docs seem to be giving nurses what they should be doing and it just makes you wait longer as have to see doc in the end anyway .

Sometimes nurses are not permitted to reveal. I had an ultrasound scan today and asked the Stenographer was there anything to worry about and very nicely said she wasn’t permitted to reveal the findings but in will be sent to my records file immediately. Attitude from nurse is paramount! From hospital nurses are fantastic.
That is true about hospital nurse's as it was a hospital nurse told me that I had asthma but wanted to double check with a doctor. She was correct. I had full blown asthma. I was only being treated by blue inhaler before the hospital visit
Hi Jeff, I guess the nurse wasn't allowed to disclose any information, but she did seem a bit abrupt. Sorry it's made you more anxious, but you will have the results soon.
Did you mention the panic attacks to your GP ....I get anxious now just going to the GP, my heart rate goes up, let alone going to the hospital.....horrible.
Have they suggested any treatment such as CBT, talking therapies or relaxation or meditation. Meditation helps me and gentle relaxed breathing......just check you are not hyperventilating.
Or physio for posture, I tend to hunch over when I am breathless, which restricts my lungs even more. I got some physio for free, then I had to pay for a few sessions but she was an excellent practioner.
Pulmonary rehab or tai chi? The BLF have a good free exercise DVD too.
Take care now , have a look on you tube for some calming music and relaxation , while you wait for the results.
(I did try gluten free for a while to see if it made any difference.....it didn't. )

Hi Jeff, quite often they can’t say what the doc is looking for because it simply says ‘full blood count’ or they do not know what the codes stand for. Not about you, more about them not liking to admit that they don’t know. My daughter in law took herself off all wheat even though her GP wasn’t interested. She feels dramatically better.
Most phlebotomists are not nurse trained so they would not know what u where being tested for,Their job is taking blood only, you should have asked your doctor what and why you were getting blood tests for .
Hello Jeff, sorry you are having what you feel is not nice response from nurse. Their could be many reasons as suggested above, or maybe she does not know what the tests are about. It only takes a few days for results to return these days so try to stay calm as stress does not help.
A point to note JAS any procedure must have informed consent. Informed consent must include why the procedure is being carried out and it's purpose. Obviously the benefit or risks must be explained. You are well within your rights to ask " what tests". It does not matter if the consent is verbal or written an explanation of any procedure should be given. You asked you should have been told. Some people are trained to take blood and have very little idea about about specific tests and their implications. I think that is why the "nurse" said ask the Doctor. In reality it should have been your doctor the person who ordered the tests that should have explained.
Hi there JAS! I've been reading through your many replies and it's as though our members have more experience than your GP/nurse. I can quite understand why you're not happy and I'm keeping my fingers crossed,that when you get your results, you will be able to get some answers at last! Love to your dad and remember this....YOU are doing a grand job,caring for him and yourself.
