Good morning all, I am on oxygen 24/7 at 4 litres and I am also on a C-Pap machine over night when my oxygen goes down to 1 litre. When i am walking around i use a conserver which is set at 4 although when i measured my sat levels this morning they had gone down to 62 when walking from my house into my car. They rose again quite quickly when I sat down but I have never seen them dip that low before when on oxygen?
all comments are gratefully received.
Regards
Joe

How long did you have the oxymeter on your finger when you registered at 62? Sometimes if it's cold, and our fingers cold it can influence the reading. Also, going from the warm environment in your house to the sudden cold air outside may cause the reading to be somewhat inaccurate. My respiratory nurse tells me to wait a bit with the oxymeter on, to take a reading especially in winter. How did you feel? If it is a frequent occurrence it is best to consult your doctor.
Caspi is absolutely right...when I first began using my oximeter, I scared myself badLy. I wasn't giving it enough time to get an accurate read...At least 30-45 seconds, and your finger must be warm....J
