Cool it!

When you're in a poorly state,

It's so easy to get irate.

Why won't the postman shut the gate?

Why is the ordered taxi late?

Why has this landed on 'my' plate?

A mid-life crisis at eighty-eight?

No, we must strive to reclaim calm,

Not to cause so much alarm.

Regain again our natural charm.

Before we do ourselves some harm.

What else will fit that ends in 'arm'?

Old MacDonald had a farm.

Love it Don, I think you should print a book..it would do no harm and be full of charm. Have an alarming weekend. 🐶 jane

I'm not interested in a book, but I've been invited to recite my poems and talk about living with COPD.

Please do. For a group? PR?

It’s not either or, and a book please.

The invite came from a respite care home where the residents are short stay and I did show an interest, I’m always ready for a good ole chat. However, I don’t do commitments anymore.

I think a good old chat is just what the doctor ordered for both sides and reciting your poems would cheer them up no end go for it Don x

Yes I find that very appealing, and I've only got 7 and a bit years to wait😄

Love it Don. I am quite a relaxed person but there is one thing that really winds me up and I simply can’t keep the irritation at bay.

We have a stupid questionnaire at work for child visitors. This was put together by a man who likes to think that he knows it all but he is no historian and a couple of the answers are so wrong. The management and other helpers blindly follow his conclusions and I cannot help but give the kids the right answers. This causes a little trouble shall we say when it comes to marking the quizzes. Ggrrrr. I know, I need to get a life!

Mr.D. ,am I to really believe you are 88 ? You are such a joker,I never know if it's true or just to complete your rhyme? Either way if your crisis has hit you at 88years young, then count yourself extremely lucky, since I've been grappling with my "life crisis", since 1962!!!!!

in reply to SquirrelsHolt

I will be 88 come November and will be happy to have a mid-life crisis. 😉 Firstly it would mean I was still alive and secondly that I'd have another 44 years to go. 🤗

Oh that was a beauty. Once upon a time the goose drank wine, the monkey spit tobacco on the street car line. The Streetcar broke, the monkey choked and they all rode to heaven on a nanny goat.
