Awww do it Carol I had such a giggle with her she was covered head to toe in the stuff all water based colours ...she's fast asleep in bed now well cot fingers crossed it stays that way 😂😂🤔

I love that, so enjoyable to do the arty crafty stuff with the young uns 
I love it also moments are so precious with them she's our first grandchild so it's still all shiny and new 😊😊

Give it a go with her it's very enjoyable gets them connected to colours and fun into the bargain...too many techno kids about today that have phones as hands the old ways have been forgotten I think sometimes ....but time to get the brushes and water colours out breathezee have a wonderful time with your little one 😊😊😊
I’ll have to dig deep for all the paraphernalia! I’ve got it all somewhere...our oldest granddaughter is fourteen, and she loved splashing about at a young age. Her skills persisted and, for Christmas, she presented a portrait painting of our youngest one! Beautiful! There’s a bit of an art vibe in the family, I must confess, we’ve always been to galleries and so on.
If the little one gets going, I’ll send you a pic, we’ll get the rug up!! Penny 👩🎨 🤸♂️ 🎨

Are you two showing at a gallery? I see a mixture of many famous pieces. It's fabulous!!! Children love to paint, I think it makes them appreciate art, colours, and their grandparents!!

Great picture Blackbird6. I loved the times I spent with my grandson painting, making masks, making paper chains etc, plastercine, he loved it and so did I. He is 15 now and a typical teenager so hardly see him, but have such happy memories x

Oh how I wish I lived near to him, alas he is in Cardiff which is a 3 1/2 train journey away, before that they lived in Tenerife so have never been near. When working I used to go over to Tenerife four times a year so that he wouldnt forget me and just make that week fun. I never had a problem getting down to his level, think my son in law thought I was mad, rolling around the floor with him or playing football or painting each others faces, it was great x

Beautiful Picture, Clever Girl. a Lovely Abstract. The other day When My Granddaughter who has just given Birth this Morning, her Amelia ( my First GGD) was painting the Babies face on The Big Tummy. I do have a Photo, But I won't share as it's a bit personal. Now Baby is Here, I will share the one she does as a Portrait, Our Babies are so Clever Hun. Love n Hugs XXXXX

I beg to differ with Stone it’s OBVIOSLY rainbows and butterflies LOL the true accomplishment is Grandma got her to take a nap and snuck out of the room without getting caught! I miss that, I did it daily with mine at that age now she’s going to be 13 in a few weeks and the only thing she really likes to do is go shopping, mainly clothes shopping. Not this Grandmas favorite. I’d prefer a hike or a swim or walk the dogs and she thinks exercise is like a bad word nobody should mention in her presence unless it’s exercising her fingers on phone or iPad. She doesn’t even know how to correctly write in cursive, it’s no longer required here, I think it’s truly a shame. My father taught me cursive and how to read time on a watch before I started kindergarten. Have a great weekend with her, does she get ice cream and pie for breakfast? LOL

Your 13 old sounds like a dream and any other young person phones ipads shopping is their passion nowadays.
Seems many moons ago I was shopping for the latest hippy skirts and dresses to suit the British summers of the 70s .
A good walk would suits me better also and the benefits are incredibly good for us all .

I’m fairly certain it’s ok if they’re spoiled a little bit bcuz generally they get another sibling and learn sharing overnight. At least that’s what I had thought but as most couples that start too young my girls parents couldn’t stay together so she has ended up an only child but has very close cousins that treat her as if she’s a sibling so she has learned the value of sharing and giving often feels better than receiving. She’s really a great kid and is not one drop of my blood people often comment how she is like me in ways. My husband had 4 children before we were married those kids became mine. One of them had this Granddaughter I speak of. She understands about the biology of it all but to her I am Grandma and luckily her Grandma doesn’t smoke or drink anymore. I’m happy about that bcuz I have over stressed to my family the importance of health. It was my major in college as well as all the illnesses I’ve had they see that I put forth great effort to balance nutrition and exercise daily and I think that’s all we can do is set our best example
