I ran out of my Fostaire inhaler on new Years Eve. I don't know how I forgot to request it before Christmas. Took an extra dose of Spiriva to try and compensate and 2 Amitryptilene that night to make it easier to sleep. Next day at 5.00 a.m. I was reeling about. All day it lasted and at 4.00 this morning went to the bathroom feeling no better Just to turn my head, look up or down makes it worse .I will have to wait for the surgery to open an report this, I wonder if I have overdosed ? does any one have a clue. I must say, though, that I have not felt the lack of Fostair. Polly X

I really don't know 🤔 I wouldn't have thought taking an extra dose of Spiriva would cause an overdose but what do I know, maybe it is that potent a medication. I have Spiriva but just take two puffs in the morning. Do you have Ventolin? It would be better for future times to use that as a replacement for the Fostair. But that's just my opinion, I am not an expert in these things. I hope you feel better soon.

I agree with what has already been said, but please get in touch with your GP to be on the safe side. Let us know ow how you are doing and take care.😊 Bernadette xx

It sounds like vertigo Polly, possibly an imbalance in the ear. Get checked out by your GP if possible. Xxxxx

This sounds more like your ears. A virus passing through can loosen the crystals which jiggle the three little bones and make you very very dizzy. See what the doc says. If it is your ears get them to show you epley’s manoevre to put the crystals back. You can do it yourself and you can find it on the internet. I have been doing it for about twenty years as with bronch, my ears have been a lifelong pain.

I agree with littlepom, I would look up the Epley Manouvre on YouTube ASAP. It's very simple. I have to do it regularly the last time was about two months ago and was fine until yesterday, brought on by sinus issues over the last couple of weeks. If it doesn't work the first time, repeat until it dies. I've never had to do it more than three times. My GP told me I have right sided vestibular disease so when I do the Manouvre it's with turning my head to the left. When for years it was labyrinthitis!

Re Fostair, when I ran out my pharmacist gave me one in advance of prescription coming through.

I think you have over dosed on amitriptyline. Same thing happened to my son when he took 2 by mistake. They have quite a long life in body so could take another 24hours to get back to normal. Pat xxx

I think the effects of the amitryptaline should have worn off after 24 hrs may have taken a little longer with the extra Spiriva . Maybe best to see your Gp if it’s not subsided?

I hope you get through to your surgery very quickly so you can get an answer. I am very fortunate in that my pharmacy will always help me out if I find myself without some meds.

Hope you find the answer and it is not serious.
