Finally after 2 months, I have the result of my CT scan,I am seeing my GP tomorrow for clarification.
My letter states that i have marked airway thickening and changes to the lungs which suggest possible infection. Diagnosed with severe COPD but was later diagnosed with aspergillus....been deteriorating slowly, but this latest letter just confuses me more
Need a bronchoscopy to obtain samples to ensure there is no ongoing infection......what next I ask myself....and what is really going on?!"?🤦♀️👨⚕️

You really need a conversation to explain the letter, and your GP will I’m sure.
These letters are often duplicates of the one sent to your GP surgery, and make sense to medically trained eyes only.
I was with my husband on Friday, getting a similar ‘translation’....we understood much better then. Have a few questions at the ready about treatment, further tests etc.
My husband waited 11 MONTHS for his results. GP kept saying no news means nothing urgent. But he had two new conditions and wasted eleven months without a new inhaler they think he needs. All was very well explained in the end. Good luck, Annie xx
One test after the other until they can diagnose, that’s how it goes. Doesn’t mean you have to think the worst is yet to come. Sometimes it comes to nothing like all the tests they did for my pancreas, or my sinuses, nothing came out of those.
