Hi

There is life with oxygen, although not on LTOT, I am on Ambulitory oxygen for exercise and moving around.

Have you been assessed for Ambulitory oxygen to make you more mobile, it’s only a extra medicine we have to take.

I'm on oxygen 15 hours. I use it when pottering about indoors and out, shopping etc Also overnight. Don't use it when travelling in car and turn off when sitting for a while i do keep an eye on my levels and always switch on if sats drop below 88. Just see it as a medication that protects my organs. You will get used to it

If you are on 15 hrs :Supplemental: oxygen, it actually means that 15 hrs is the MINIMUM to be used in a 24 HR period.

INFO: Supplemental oxygen must be used for at least 15 hours per

24 hours, any less than this and benefits are not seen.

Hi Robles I too went on oxygen fifteen hrs a day lasted less than six months now on just ambulatory so there’s hope. Never stopped me doing anything just don’t be embarrassed to go out with it.

It is a simple choice Robles. Without the O2 increase that you have been assessed as needing you will be less active. Your lungs, heart and brain will all suffer from increasing damage. You will sleep more, find decisions more difficult. Become less interested in things and people around you. Everything gradually gets just too much effort. Forgetfulnes becomes the norm and you need increasingly more care just to exist.

Oxygen is prescribed because you are assessed as needing it. Use it and enjoy life's bounty.

Kind regards, Rib
