Changed to Duo Spiromax

Hi All, seen my consultant last week but it was a temp guy as regular fella on annual leave. This consultant wasn't very nice, knew nothing about me. And then said we would leave things as they are. I said will I'm on Steride all the time, and still can't do things, so surely it's not working. His answer was no we leave them as they are. So, after a few tears I said my doctor wrote to add on another inhaler cause I'm not coping, so eventually he asked do you want me to change your inhaler ( though I was the patient). So he put me on the Duo Spiromax, so I was nervous to change. On it a week now and I'm doing more than normal without the usual symptoms. Bit breathless at times but feel good. Afraid to get too excited, as I usually start off good. So just on Spiromax and Sprivia now, anyone else on Spiromax ???? How do you find it!! Another note about the doctor, cause I was upset he asked had I ever gotten treatment for my anxiety, how I didn't hit him I don't know. I was frustrated and upset cause they don't listen and I was on the same medication for the last two years, and wasn't well at all.. He had no bed side manners at all.

Have you thought about making an offical complaint. He will carry on in this manner unless somone reports it and he is taught how to behave with patients he is a doctor not god and needs to be told when he is getting it wrong. I hope you are feeling better after that upsetting experience

Hi

Was changed to Spiromax a while ago, not because of my condition but as it’s cheaper

Never really noticed a difference in symptoms but was gritty and I had sore mouth etc

However a scan showed I have developed Bronchiectasis so med changed to trelegy which is more COPD type medication

I know others on spiromax who get on with it. Just gargle well after use

Think only became available in last 12 months but not for Asthma alone in the U.K.

mostly for COPD but being prescribed now for cases like ours. It’s once a day and for me seems to be working.

Perhaps worth mentioning to Astma/ chest nurse if you have one.

Great yes under a respiratory professor in Cork, might mention it to him. Asthma society are brilliant for advise too. Thanks for your reply.

How do you find Trelegy, my pharmacist gave me a leaflet on it todsy and suggested it might be worth trying. Everything else still leaves me with symptoms. Unwell again last two days.

You should have hit him.consultants have soft bits too.normally when you hit them they listen to patients, strange sort of logic but it always works.good luck.
