I'm lying in my bed at night
The time is half past three
I hear somebody calling me
Whoever can that be.
It sounds a very long way off,
Maybe I've misheard.
It could have been a roaming cat
A dog or else a bird.
I tried to get to sleep again
But there's murmuring outside.
I can't see anyone out there
And there's nowhere they could hide.
I know until I sort this out
I'll never get some rest.
Then suddenly I realise,
It's coming from my chest!

Oh I know that blinking sound!....Its surprising just how loud we can be plus the variety of sounds.( well that's what my son tells me but he also added that I do a lot of chit chat that is just gobbledygook).
