Hi been a while seen ive been on in last month been in and out of hospital 4 times with COPD I have my home nebuliser but do anyone use a portable one and are they any good I am looking for on at reasonable price x

Hello jean, sorry to hear about your hospital stays and l hope you’re on the mend now.

Pete has a portable nebuliser from Lidl for around £20 but you have to keep an eye open for them as not available all the time.

Pete says to google portable nebulisers as there are a few available. He mentioned a company called Evergreen. Xxxx

I bought Omron, they are expensive and don’t last..they are made for occasional use in fact but it was under garantie so the pharmacist changed it.

Then the respiratory specialist got me a Philipps Respironics from the Swiss Lung Association it is not too heavy, you can take it around.

I've had a look at this one in the past. Only didn't get it because it wasn't in the sale at the time. Check out the chamber - think it holds 5ml. It depends what you need to nebulise. Fine for bronchodialter. Might have a look myself seen as it is on sale.

I wouldn't use it as a main nebuliser myself - just lighter and more convenient when away from home. Check out the accesories you will have to buy form time to time.

There will also be some on Evergreen and Smiths Medical. If you buy from these make sure you get your VAT medical exemption.

i have two Omrons.....one mains operated and the other battery operated so that I can carry it around with me. But I only use mine for emergencies not for everyday use.I bought them from Evergreen, and asked them for advice first as to which was the most suitable model for me.

I always carry spare batteries with the portable model. My old big portable nebuliser had a rechargeable battery, this tiny one uses AA batteries, but you can get rechargeable portable nebulisers as well.

It’s the small battery one I have as well. The film filter is very fragile..

I use a Phillips Respironics portable one for when I'm out in case my Salbutamol inhaler is not stopping an attack. At home I have an electric one on loan from NHS downstairs but take my portable one upstairs with me at night just in case.

I use the phillips respironics machine. Spares are availalbe and they last well.

For travelling i use a small battery one for holidays. Again it is a phillips.

I use a nebuliser 2 a day every day. I expect the mains one to last 3 to 4 years. Evergreen are a good company and i would reccommend them.
