THC is one part of cannabis. It's the part that get's you high. Cannabidiol is the other main component (there are many parts) It's worth researching Medical CBD.
google - CBD is one of over 60+ compounds found in cannabis that belong to a class of molecules called cannabinoids.
I think it's POT 
THC is the part of the cannabis plant which can help with breathing, as I understand it from other previous posts and links. It's also the component which gets you high. I believe CBD helps with pain and of course both should be legalised for medical use.
THC can be taken by suppository and then you don't get the high which you would get if you either smoked it (not a good idea for us!) or ingested it.
O2Trees Let me add to your post about the THC making you high.. You can get Peppercorn from a grocery store and put one in your mouth a chew it or suck on it and it'll take high away.

They have since prescribed it for A little boy with Epelectic siezures as was widely reported a short while ago.Cbd is extracted from the cannabis plant and the chemical compound(which makes you "high" or "low" dependant on your own physcological make up)THC is removed.
It is mainly used worldwide where approved for pain relief and controlling undesired brain activity such as in Epilepsy Amongst other ailments.I have seen comments on this site refering to its help in Respitory conditions but have yet to find any conclusive research or evidence that it would be of any use but i am well aware that even given that failing there may well be a Placebo effect for those who take it.
Be aware that there are many outlets advertising CBD hemp oil and other products which supposedly contain CBD and god knows whatever other chemical and heavy metal compounds lurk within them
Sorry to be a downer on this one but i think there is better stuff out there for people with lung conditions that i would rather experiment with first.And believe me comming from an ex hippy and indulger thats quite a no against CBD.

I,m giving serious consideration to asking my doctor about it .
Mrsmummy is dead right,THC the good stuff within Cannabis if you are in to the mind altering chemical qualities is what other researchers are looking into with regard to its possible use in treating Respitory disorders.So unless you fancy a coughing fit and a craving for sweet crunchy things i would stick to a glass of wine and a good Novel as i do not think even the the best dealers in the world have come up with THC oil yet.I may well be proved wrong Regards Mike
I do not agree that THC is the good stuff. This is the chemical that causes hallucinations etc and the chemical that gets people "hooked" as they say. The chemical that helps destroy so many lives. Legalised and used correctly as pain relief I strongly agree with. As for CBD I have used it, carefully chosen as there are a lot of people selling low strength products for ridiculous prices. I use the oil and I do believe it helps my anxiety levels as for my chest I cannot say 100%. I have a chronic chest and have had part of my right lung removed. CBD is advertised as aiding with many conditions but no accurate research has been carried out to prove these claims.
I did forget to mention that my neighbours use cannabis or skunk and when it is blown into my garden or seeps into my house my chest actually tightens up. Maybe my condition?
THC does not cause hallucinations. That is a myth. The reason I feel so strongly about this is that many people may turn away from medical CBD based on false statements, myths and brainwashing. It's worth researching more.

Nobody on this site claims a cure, though some report improvements.
If THC where the cure for COPD in the uk the country would be full of Stoned diabetics with the munchies with serious breathing disorders.But we would all love each other.XX
Those who use it tend to use suppositories which means there is no high as it bypasses the liver. You can read members' experiences on here but remember that some do not live in this country where its procurement and use in this manner would be illegal.

The big pharmaceutical companies act against people who want to legalise medical cannabis. Because they would lose billions in revenue. I'm not saying that medical cannabis is a cure. But why turn your back on something just because you've been brainwashed against it for so many years? Get rid of the image in your mind of stoned hippies and the like. Research it and find out about it.
Confused A suppository is a solid dosage form that is inserted into the rectum (rectal suppository), vagina (vaginal suppository) or urethra (urethral suppository), where it dissolves or melts and exerts local or systemic effects. Suppositories are used to deliver both systemically and locally acting medications.
If its systemic it must get into the bloodstream which must at some stage get into your brain so why would we not get the high?and if its local effect how does it reach our lungs.
I must do some more reading to discover other members experiences.MInd you if its illegal That makes it even more intersting for social discourse.XX
I haven't used it myself but it has been well documented. Try putting Cannabis oil into the search box.
Done as suggested,its quite a contraversial topic and one that obviously has both followers and opponents,i personaly have no objection to the personal use of Cannabis and it could be argued that both Alcohol and certainly Tobacco both to a certain extent state sponsored are far more dangerous ,But i think even given my liberalism that their is not enough evidence to recommend promotting the use of THC as a general benefit to COPd sufferers.God i hate being pro establishment
sorry wasn.t trying to imply you were a promoter.I just feel like sometimes i need to jump in and say don.t do it you are getting ripped off both financially and emotionaly but i guess its just we all want to protect our fellow forum users even if our own prejudicious views intervene.
Living in Spain we bought some CBD for my husband John which he puts under his tongue 2 times a day, whether it is coincidence or the placebo effect, it has certainly helped his breathing so will certainly carry on using it.
Everyone seems more focused on THC rather than the topic of CBD. There is no THC oil and if there was it would be illegal. There is CBD oil which is claimed to help so many conditions. Sadly there are people out there selling low brand products for ridiculous prices and there is no real positive research been carried out. I use CBD oil and I believe it helps with my anxiety as for my chest conditions ??
I live in the US and started using CBD oil (and no there is no THC in it) a few months ago for my RA. It helps tremendously with the inflammation. I recently started giving it to my husband (which has emphysema) because if it helps inflammation, why not? I don't know if it helps him or not, but at this point (at least with me), I'll try just about anything to try to help him. 
Not the 'pot' that the hippies smoked back in the 60's. Medical Cannabis is helping so many people with various illnesses now, including cancer, autism, parkinson's, epilepsy. The list goes on. It is now legal in 9 states of the US and more states are campaigning for it to be legal.It's worth researching. It would be a shame if we just ignored it because we have been brainwashed against it for so many years. If the cannabis plant had only just been discovered, and all the health benefits it offers.....it would be being hailed as a medical breakthrough. But we have been brainwashed and automatically turn away from it.
