Sorry to hear this. Are you under a consultant? If not you need to insist on seeing one. They can override your GP and hopefully you will get proper treatment then.

Or can you see a different GP? Or change surgeries.

hi Jane

I recently had terrible problems with my gp they refused to give me any other antibiotic apart from amoxicillan even when it clearly wasn't helping. my cons has now told my gp to alternate between amoxicillan and clairithromycin.

so consultants can be very helpful in these situations
