Hi, yes I often get the same pain. Hope you ok 😐 Bernadette xx
It's scary isn't it. I just wish I new wat the he'll is going on these tests r taking 4ever.ive chased them up twice an I've been told another fortnight. Xx
Any concerns Poppy, please phone your doctor. Do you have a respiratory nurse to speak to? or phone the BLF helpline on 03000 030 555 and speak to someone. Take care xxxxxxx
My Dr really isn't very much help honestly an wen I went to him last week after my first experience of not being able to breath he didn't want to give me a spare pump an told me to wait 4 tests. Like I was being a pain. X
I have to agree with Sassy. For your own peace of mind I'd speak to a medical professional about your concerns. Good luck and take care. Pam XXX
This type of pain is common to COPD sufferers. It can be caused by coughing etc. However best advice with any new symptoms is to get it checked out by GP. There are non COPD related causes which need eliminating.
Like wat should I look out 4.my gp wasnt helpful at all last week. An I wasn't experiencing this pain then. I had a bad weekend with weezing an my breathing was a bit of a struggle specially of a nite.it is 2dsy this pain started. I'm so confused x
Hi Poppy, the type of pain you describe sounds like pleurisy, The doctor should listen for a sound called a pleural rub. However Due to the wheeze etc something may have triggered an inflammatory response in your lungs. Nobody can diagnose you over the internet. Best advice is to see your GP if you are not happy with him get a new one. hope you are soon pain free.
Sounds like pleurisy to me. I had the pain in my right lung on the back. Hurts breathing moving coughing . Go get it checked asap. U may need an a/b.xx
It's not indirectly related to copd. If u have had an infection that could be the cause of it if it is pleurisy. Best having ur gp check on it for peace of mind x
I really don't no. The last few months I b seem to B ran down an I bit lifeless. I have continuse pain I have been all different areas. But my bloods have Cum out normal. X
Hi Poppy, you are definitely not alone. For years and years, I've suffered from pain in my lower back, in both bases and in the front, underneath the collar bone, going down to the top of my breasts. It can be sharp or dull and often feels like burning underneath the skin. This happens when I have an infection or exacerbation and usually clears, when the antibiotics kick in. I always know when I'm getting really sick by how severe the pain is but in my experience, doctors are very dismissive about this type of pain. It's casually referred to as maybe muscular, maybe pleuritic but not taken very seriously. So when it's bad, I take some painkillers - just paracetamol - and maybe a hot water bottle. When the infection clears the pain goes until the whole cycle starts all over again.
Yea my Dr is very dismissive about most things specially pain. It really upsets me cause I am on lots of meds, 4 other stuff N he will not up them no matter how much we much pain I'm in. I'm hoping wen I get a proper diagnosis I will have other Dr's an nurses that will b more helpful x thank you. X
I get it in the right side but I actually have no lung there so can only assume it is muscular, but do get it checked out ... better safe than sorry xxxx
Hi poppy
I suffered a pain when breathing in and it kept me awake on Saturday night past. I phoned out of hrs and was seen by a nurse with upgraded training, something that is becoming more prevalent due to lack of GPS. She examined me very thoroughly and advised my lungs were very clear, temperature normal, no cough, oxy was fine at 92 which is my normal. She advised it sounded like I had damaged the cartlige that separates my ribs. It is now easing off 2 days later , but was very painful at the time.

Dear poppy I have simalar pain when deep breathing sometimes on left or right, feels like whe shoulder blades are on my back. Doctor thinks I have copd and maybe asthma and emphysema. Awaiting consultant referral. I saw your old post and thought I’d ask how u had got on?
