We had 80,000 attend the dawn service this morning,many,many young ones there, so as long as they remember it will be passed on.

Let's hope we never go down that path again,although it only takes one madman to fuel the fires of war.

And so many to put it out.

I bet it was a very moving service. Yes the memory of this must be kept alive and we must all do our share to make sure it is, by teaching the younger generations the horror of it, as we were taught by the generation who lived through it. Bev x

Hello Will, peace to all. My Grandad fought & survived here. He was a Royal Marine, part of the Royal Naval Division. Later this transfered to the Army: he was in the Royal Engineers. We should never forget... x

My mother was in the RAF towards the end of the war. We were all very proud of her for doing her bit. Also her father who was injured in WW1 which contributed to his early death. x

My dad was in the army & mum was in the WRAF's. I was born in Boscombe hospital during a bombing raid. Strangely I don"t actually remember this! X

We tend to think about the men who served and yet we had so many courageous women who also went to war. I pray we never have to do this again.

I do not think there are any family's either here, NZ or in the UK who have not been affected by the atrocity of war.

My father was a "Wharfie" and was declared a member of the essential war services and as such never served overseas, rather he helped load the ships,taking supplies to the troops.

As a young boy I can still vividly remember the troops coming home in 1945 -46.

How happy, and at the same time, how sad they looked. I will never forget those faces.

We will indeed. Anzac Day a very special day of Remembrance, thankyou Will. Not many of our families were left untouched.

Every year we say never again and still the senseless slaughter continues in other parts of the world.

Sadly we need to look no further than home anymore.

These sub-humans are hell bent on destroying life as we know it. To what end? They still live in the stone age with like mentality.

I fear not for myself as I believe it will be our grand children who will bear the brunt of this insanity, unless all governments show some backbone and go after the money men, you know them, the ones who refuse to take refugees into their own country.
