Merry Christmas, I was panicking this morning when the site wouldn't open up.

Are you all festive and ready for some fun?

Jingle bells somethings smells

Airfreshners on the way

Oh what fun it is to have

Burnt sprouts on Christmas day.

Jingle bells, the crashing tells

Aunties on her way

Oh just quick call in the pub

for a Sherry on Christmas day

Riding through the fog and

I can't get off the b*g

Oh what fun it is to have

A happy holiday

Oh Jingle bells jingle bells

Jingle all the way

Of what fun it is to have

People on Christmas day.

Not done my veggies yet, so I will have to love you and leave you for half an hour in a bit. Just come back from nephew & wife to give their 2 girls their presents. They gave me a love framed photo of the girls.

What nice things have happened to you today?

Right to start you all off with reminiscing.....

I remember when I was about 6, we used to go to the local picture house every Saturday to watch the matinee. Old mother reilly and the lone ranger, Laurel & Hardy, Three Stooges.

The picture house had a stage and red velvet curtains. We used to get a shilling spends. 6 pence to get in and 6 pence for sweets. Chewing tobacco, everlasting strip, blackjacks and mojos, fruit salad and penny arrowbars (banana was my favourite) used to make ourselves sick.

Well, the Saturday morning club always had a Christmas fancy dress. My mother was an auxillary nurse at the children's hospital so I used her apron, cape and hat, and my younger brother was covered in bandages.

We one first prize. I got a tea set and my brother a giant bar of cadbury's milk.

I oved that tea set. I kept it under the bed so no-one else would use it. But our bed!!!

The frame collapsed and shattered my tea set. The bed was to heavy with all the coats we had piled on to keep warm (we had ice on the inside of the windows!).

Happy days

I remember ice on the inside of window use to make nice patterns , and a frozen flannel , first film I ever see at the cinema was ET .

in reply to mmzetor

ET was on the TV Christmas Day one of the best films ever.
