Hi,I have been having trouble with pain in my left foot on & off all this year.It gradually got worse over the year on the side & under the arch.Compressing the clutch caused great pain & to do so I had to use as close to my heal as possible.Just over a month ago I was hobbling across the road & a car came around the corner which made me try to get out of the way & I heard a crack & the pain was unbelievable.I was taken to hospital & kept in for a few days. They took xray & said no break,I was discharged still in pain with a walking stick & a slipper on my left foot.I was called back to hospital a few days later to see a foot consultant who said I had a fracture in the second metatarsal gave me a boot to wear for six weeks.I had a long standing appointment(made in about august) over this problem with a musculoskeletal consultant.
I had this appointment three days ago at a local health centre,he said he could see no fracture. The consultant who I saw earlier this year in the same health centre sent me for physio that made things worse ie terrible cramps on top of the foot pains,my own doc said he did not know what it was
.I am wearing the boot till I go to bed,in bed I wear tubular bandages. It does seem to be getting better now,I have not driven for three weeks although I have gone out & given the engine a run,I have tried the clutch very slowly & yesterday very little pain with the boot on.Any one had this problem,Have I had this fracture all this year?.I am 74yrs old male.
