Tricky one. Do you know where your anti-doctors and hospitals reaction came from? Have you had a bad experience? Most doctors are excellent and these days you should be able to pick and choose from a team. Also respiratory nurses are brilliant. You need to get over that hurdle in order to get help. Do you smoke? If so you should be able to get sympathetic treatment to help you to stop. And there are many on this forum who have been through that. You will get masses of help here.

All the best

I don't have many beliefs about life but I do believe that no one --- NO ONE --- is ever, ever a lost cause. As for the smoking you will get there. One day at a time. Be gentle with yourself when you fail. Tomorrow is another day with potential that you cannot see now. Others here have done it and will offer help.

All the best

Hi, you're most probably on Pulmicort to prevent asthma attacks. I don't have asthma but have COPD & I take Spiriva, a prevention inhaler. Plus Salbutamol as my reliever inhaler.

I'm sorry you have a fear of doctors but sometimes we need them.

If your meds are not working for you, maybe you need to get them changed.

Good advice is most definitely to stop smoking. Eat well, sleep well, exercise & take your meds & keep as active as possible.

Hope you feel better soon 🌸

Sorry I'm just really repeating what the others have said to you and deffo make sure you get the doctors to explain things to you so that you understand etc. I've got COPD and quite often have to ask them to say things twice to me whilst I jot them down etc. Good luck.

Hi Suzie,

Oh sorry to hear that seeing the docs is an unpleasant experience for you....have you called the BLF helpline at all? They have been wonderfully helpful whenever I have called them...

Let us know how you get on with your health.
