what are the benefits of taking carbocisteine medication for copd sufferers.

It's a type of medicine. A mucolytic. Used to help clear sputum in respiratory disease associated with a productive cough. I don't know anything about this as I personally don't need this medicine as I don't have a cough at all. I'm sure someone will be able to help you. Take care

thanks jess just had steroid med doubled doc thinks this may also help but watch this space as this medication is very expensive cheers.frank24

I only know I take it for bronchiectasis. It helps thin the mucous and makes it easier to bring it up with physio. I do not think it works for everybody. I do not know about it's use for COPD. Somebody with that condition will answer you. Kaye

Been taking mucodyne for a while now. Think it helps. Mucous not making me choke so much.

Yes I have been on them for over four years now and never any problems with mucus easy to bring up and clear the chest I like them and could not be without them

I was put on it about 4 months ago...no problems and it does help me clear my chest.
