It was all systems go today...I went to the hairdresser and had a short back and sides...not much in the way of gossip though 'cos Tricia is away and it was her sister in charge of the scissors and she doesn't talk much...apart from complaining about having to work the entire week. And she'd had pains in her boob...panicked a bit, as you would...it was a tiny bit of hair that'd worked its way under the skin and caused a horrible septic lump...had to have it sort of squeezed out...I shuddered...she said it wasn't too bad...she had a local anaesthetic first. The thought of that made me shudder again.
So it was a late lunch and then Himself couldn't wash the floor because I told him the squeezy mop was totally gross and he said he'd bought another mop bit but it didn't fit...I told him he'd have to buy a whole new mop and he said they were €18 and I said they probably are...and made in China. It's slowly dawning on him that stuff is expensive and when I used to mutter about having to buy household stuff I wasn't piling on the agony...
Don't know why he wanted to wash the floor...it looks alright to me.
We had to move the furniture around as well 'cos the table usually lives up against the wall which is fine when it's just us but when Teresa and Reuben come it isn't...so the table goes in the middle of the room and the easy chair goes against the wall and then the kittens play gym needed moving as well so that's gone beside the chair...too near the back door really but there's nowhere else for it.
Tomorrow will be shopping...a bottle of Vodka for Herself...she's ever so funny when she's had a couple of glasses of Vodka and tonic...especially if she's cooking the supper at the same time...about a million packets of biscuits for Reuben who eats like a horse and never puts an ounce of weight on...
And something I can throw together for Saturdays supper 'cos it's a bit much to expect T to cook when she'll have been up at some ungodly time in the morning...
It'll be lovely...we do so look forward to them coming over.

Can I suggest cauliflower cheese with big (1" dia x 1" long) chunks of leek in it ? I had it at a mate's house a few months ago and the Boss has made it the same way at home, ever since. It is delicious and.................... easy !!
Bit of news - started the trial for LVRV last Thursday, at the Royal Brompton. At first it looked like I'd fallen at the first fence - I was clinically obese, outside the BMI parameters - but I was rechecked on Tuesday of this week and I had grown just over one centimetre and dropped just over 5 kilos in weight. The short height was due to having just come back from Cyprus and my body was still compressed - I did stretching exercises over the weekend - and the weight loss was easy. All you have to do is try my diet - one small plum, one peach and one stick of celery over the 4 days, and walk at least half a mile each day ! It was drastic, but necessary. I will still be losing weight over the next few months, under an easier regime. Bit weird - I'm actually able to walk further without gasping now. Where did that come from ?
Have a good craic this weekend Vashti !😁 wonder what your hair is like, it's about time my hair had a cut too , we'll be looking for scarfs before you know it , it's getting cooler..have fun, stay warm 😃huff xxx🍁🍂🍃💿
