Ten reasons for not going on holiday with Dozy, or anywhere near Dozy.

1. You end up going a day later than planned because you cannot get your a xx in gear to finish washing.

2. Not only are you now a day late but have rearranged the food and decided you aren't capable of cooking so it's Burger King.

3. It's windy and it's raining.

4. The car breaks down at Tesco and spills all the water in the world from the bottom. Call RAC for rescue as oxygen will only last an hour. He came in 10 mins (bless) but had to call on bestest friend to pick Dozy up for oxygen run.

5. It was so windy the poles for the awning came down. 60 mile an hour winds will do that. Mr Dozy and all the other men spent most of the day on awning duty for the rest of the site.

6. With the car breaking down no shopping done so for a change McDonald's for dinner.

7. Car fixed, fridge broke.

8. Still raining. Every flipping day.

9. Mr Dozy tripped in awning entrance and measured his length. After Dozy stopped laughing found he had hurt his wrists.

10. Went home early and the weather is gorgeous now. Dozy's luck.

Remember it is not good to pick the same time and place to be away with Dozy. Mr Dozy does not get that choice though.

Perhaps I should take you with me next time. Especially after having to chuck lamb and pork out. Gone off. Can't blame the fridge just couldn't be bothered to cook. xx πŸ€

Oh Bless! What a catalogue of disasters Dozy. That will be a memorable holiday for all the wrong reasons then. Still you are safe and back with us. Hope Mr Dozy's wrists are okay.

Dear me Dozy, may be a good thing you are not coming to the I.O.W. with us then. Can't afford to miss the ferry! Hope Mr. D is ok now and no damage done. Wishing you well too. xxxx

What ferry? The one from Portsmouth is on top of Spinnaker Tower and from Southampton was last seen dashing for France. Heard we were driving by. πŸ˜… πŸ€

Hi DD, Taking a staycation is always a bit of a lottery with the ever changing weather but at least we have the RAC, Burger King and Mc Donald's to save the day eh'.

Were off to Polperro next month so its fingers crossed the Dozy's are not nearby and we get the same weather as last year which was amazing. Raincoats and brollys are always nearby though carried by my own PA, the long suffering Mrs Dall :) .

This reminds me I must get my oxygen sorted because Polperro has some very very steep hills and I wouldn't get far without it unless Mrs Dall piggy backed me. Something I've not suggested up to now for some reason. :)

Last time I was in Polperro I could run up and down the hills. But you are safe as I believe you might be off the Dozy radar down there. Is that the reason you lost the weight, just so you could get a piggy back? By the way after you saying you can lose weight on steroids I have managed to lose 1 and half stone. Feel so much better for it.

you can hear me muttering eat has as much do twice as much from miles away. Take care wingman πŸ˜… πŸ€

That's brilliant DD, losing weight made more difference to my breathing than any pill or exercise routine have ever done.

My transplant consultant was right wasn't he, you can lose weight while on quite high doses of steroids.

I'll probably have to lose a lot more before Mrs Dall can carry me up those Polperro hills, still as long as she can get me back from the pub that's the main thing yeh! That Cornish Rattler cider does strange things to yer legs you know when mixed with oxygen.

Hope you have better luck on your next holiday Tina but don't forget to tell me where and when, well its only fair to all healthunlockeders to be warned yeh!

can you tell me my wife need to lose weight after being diognised with c o p d and had to stop smoking are you saying she could loose weight with steroids

DozyDormouse profile image
DozyDormouse in reply to eastridingbigden

No steroids have the opposite effect and make you very hungry. To lose weight it is the simple thing do more and eat less.

when we get lung problems we spend a lot of time sitting and continue to eat as though we were still well and active. So the first thing is stop snacks and eat 3 smaller meals a day. Her doctor will give dietry advice or your nurse.

you can also phone the blf.

thank you dozy dormouse I thought it was the steroids is there anything other than coming of them she has put on 3 stone and now her hip is bothering her and she cannot walk far

A visit to doctors for a calorie controlled diet is my recommendation.

Those are just the one's I can remember. Mr Dozy will not let me walk around carrying scissors or knives. I don't know why.

It's just that my feet seem to have had what is left of my brain transplanted in them and do their own thing. Oh wellπŸ˜… πŸ€

Oh Dozy. What a calamity. What a shame you have had such a bad time away. Perhaps you can go again later when the weather is better. That's the trouble here in this country. You never know what you are going to get. I will just be glad when I can feel warm. It must have been scary when you knew you didn't have enough oxygen. It's one of the things I worried about with Mike. That it would run out. Never mind. Alls well that ends well and you are back home warm and cozy.

Take care Dozy. XXX

DozyDormouse profile image
DozyDormouse in reply to Mavary

I never worry about running out. I just remain calm and deep breathe. SATS do their own thing but can survive on about 65 for 20 mins usually enough time to get back. I also turn the flow down as well. Although I need 15 to move I can sit on 8 and double the time. So it was really Dozy being a drama queen as usual. Take care dear πŸ˜… πŸ€ xxx

You just can't depend on the weather in May in this part of the world. After weeks of glorious sunshine round here it's now turned into January for some reason. Hopefully Mr Dozy isn't so traumatised that he'll refuse to leave the house with you ever again.

I think I managed to persuade him that it was all his fault as I didn't book the holiday. He thought he was being clever by using the Bank Holidays in with annual leave. Still hope no one is going anywhere near Poole for half term. If so it isn't me in the caravan. A figment of your imagination. πŸ˜… πŸ€ xx

If its any consolation it gave me a giggle this morning! Hope you have all recovered and have a relaxing week, lots of love TAD xx

Relax what does that mean. Got to get ready for weekend away. Mr Dozy left his ipad there. Recovery needed. Then away half term for the week. Is it any wonder poor putupon Dozy need to hibernate. πŸ˜ƒ πŸ€ xx

Hi Dozy thank you for asking - was doing ok but just had an 'ex-friend' staying at my friends where I lodge for the moment and they got really nasty with me last night saying well as my disease was self afflicted I did not deserve any sympathy among other things - really do not need any more negativity in my life at the moment so very upsetting and had to just sit and take it and control my breathing as was afraid if I got emotional I could lose it and have a panic attack - oh well do not need friends like that - hope all Ok with you at the moment - take care xxx

DozyDormouse profile image
DozyDormouse in reply to undine

Oh my poor darling. No - one deserves that, least of all you. We are all aware of our failings and do not need them pointed out by 'friends'. Would it be very undozyish to hope she gets her come uppance?

All I can do is offer you a big all enveloping, super soft, squishy and comforting feel better mummy hug. Take care dear πŸ’
