Same here, I have had to call an ambulance in the past but the paramedics said my SATS were ok, but I still had problems breathing....a tight chest and low peak flow as well.

Yes mogsy my hubby Pete has good sats but struggles with his breathing. It does seem odd but he has always been like that. xxxx

When I went with my husband to his PR classes, the COPD nurse gave a talk on this subject. Apparently, it depends on the way the lungs are damaged. Something to do with the very ends of the "branches" in the lungs and whether they are working well, getting the oxygen round the body. Sometimes, even though they're doing their job, if the actual "branches" themselves are very narrow, it's this which causes the breathlessness, even though the sats are good.

Sorry to ramble on rather - it's just that this is something which confused me and it was good to have an explanation.

My breathlessness usually has very little to do with my sats.Sats at 96% yet still takes 20 minutes to get back to rhythm after just going 5 feet to the loo.Jananns explanation sound spot on to me.This is why exercise is so important.D.

Yea I'm the same ,not on oxygen, I just don't do much to cope with it.dont walk anywhere.my oxy level indoors is manageable if I rest a lot. But going out they have never tested me properly, got fed up with me straight away as I said I'm not caring that around with me,looks like a grenade hurt my shoulder too heavy.
