I was diagnosed with Emphysema in February and am undergoing further tests. This is all coming at me so quickly and has caught me off guard. Is there anybody else who is suffering with these headaches?

Headaches 24/7
Hi hun
I suffered from headaches from waking up that were just awful and although they would ease off during the day they never went no matter what i took for them.
In my case it was my c02 levels going off the charts so i dont know if your on oxygen but the symptoms of it are severe headaches and feeling drowsy

Hi Stu, You are probably still reeling with the name (Emphysema) being attached to your lung issues. I'm guessing you knew something wasn't quite right like most of us eg: asthma/unfit/smokers cough etc etc. It is a little odd that you have gone from a diagnosis to the mentioning of a lung transplant basically all in the same breath. No wonder its caught you off guard! Who diagnosed you and how? Did they follow that through with a stage mild/moderate etc? Though surely the word transplant wouldn't enter the conversation if your mild.. On your previous post you said you had a full lung function test and were awaiting the results. How long do you have to wait? I'm in another country but the technology is the same they should have given you a copy of the results following the test its easy for them to print one off. Can you not contact wherever you had it done and ask if you can pick up a copy or could it be emailed? Mandy has personal experience of needing & using oxygen and she has kindly covered the symptoms of requiring it in her reply. I use to get migraines horrible. horrible things! Have you got an oximeter to measure your oxygen levels? First step would be to find what is causing the headache. If not low oxygen then other reasons can be looked into. Anything to get rid of the pain! Is your neck ok? Do hope you get it sorted and settled soon. A family friend has been treated for emphysema for the past 10 years. Diagnosed by his GP. Used steroid sprays daily all those years only to be referred to a lung specialist a few weeks ago and after a bronchoscopy told he hasn't and never had emphysema. All the medication has been binned. I wonder what damage is done by using meds all those years when they were never needed. hugs Suz
