Good day everyone
Get well wishes to all the members not feeling well at this time.
Thought I'd do a post on something fun.
Whats your all time favorite vacation? Or if you don't have a favorite, what would you do if money was no object.

I love Sennen Cove in Cornwall Ruby, it's such a pretty place and holds some dear memories for me. xxx
Bigbury on Sea in Devon - been a few times and going again this September
Do you have relatives there Eyes?
Sounds like your making it a yearly Vac. Thats great. Enjoy
☺☺☺
no relatives' we just love it and stay at the apartments next to the beach and overlooking Burgh Island .... can't wait
I fancy the Maldives. My wife would like to go on a safari in Africa. Since we live in Cornwall, just near Fowey, I think we will stay here though.
Hi me and a friend went to Fowey once on the ferry on a sunday. We drove on to Polperro and it was closed We ended up in Bodmin in this great pub x
CHEERS!!
Your wife is very adventurous Eric.
A little too much so for me! I gotta say she would probably be able to get Eyes and Lyn to join her. Can you imagine the pictures they would take? Then we got Vashti, who could write a great story about the trip. Sounds like fun!
😉😉
I would do a tour round USA as there are so many wonderful places I want to visit. New York, San Fran, Hollywood, Memphis, New Orleans. Bliss.... x
Come on over Cough. You would love it. Talk about pubs! You would
never leave New york. It would be a great trip. I've not seen all these places either. I would like to go to new Orleans also. Calif. I would love to go there and stay. Good weather,
Unlike New jersey!
☺😊
Ha ha ha am booking my ticket as I type. xx
Hi Ruby, I've just had a nice little stay in Windermere in the lake district....the land of Beatrix Potter and Poets, very beautiful!! xxx
Hi Ruby. My wife goes to Corfu on her own every year for three weeks (she meets friends there) and I would love to go with her if you could arrange some breath for me. I think this year she is learning a new dance called the Shirley Valentine. She keeps going on about doing it. lol
Bobby xx
Thats great Bobby. She sounds really fun! What about you? Poor Bobby. What can we do for you fun?
I bet she brings you back alot of treats. Do you have the house to yourself while shes gone? Wish you could go with her. Wheres that magic wand?
☺😊
Last year Ruby she brought me back a Corfu tea towel and a Corfu oven glove. he he. Yes I am all alone while she is gone. Blessed peace and quiet. Wonderful.
Bobby xx
And you miss her very much! You can't fool me Bobby.. xx
Money no object? I'd get a yacht.
One dream I haven't fulfilled yet is to motorcycle across the U.S. East to West then up and down the west coast.
Another is to ride the range in Wild West.
Wow Peege
Thats some big plans! Do you ride a motorcycle? Lucky girl. I would love to join you! We got some extra breath for you too Bobby. Won't you come along?
What fun!
☺😊
I did Ruby. I gave it up 6 years ago when I got a Labrador who took all my spare time in walking him. I've just lost him so will get a smaller one next time!
So sorry to hear that Peege. Losing a pet is heartbreaking. My heart goes out to you. 😦
Thank you Ruby, I thought I'd have him for another 4-5 years. Having to learn to live without him - ive put on a few kilos from lack of exercise in the last 8 weeks. Must get my arse in gear (because I can't get it into my jeans)!
Oh Peege I am sorry about you losing your dog, is that him in the picture? We lost our Rexo the week before Christmas and miss him terribly, I've been staying home not walking much....can't stop looking at dogs...and puppies....!
Oh HP I'm very sorry for you too. It's awful isn't it.
Yes, my Chocco Lab Freddie in the pic. I haven't the heart to change it now. He'd have been 9 this month. It was January 8th here in France so I have to go home without my pal. 😢
Sorry to both of you. Its like losing a family member. Being an an animal lover and helping with animal rescue I lost many over the yrs. And cried many tears. So sad.xx
If I was planning a trip I'd like to buy a VW camper van, I had one years ago and loved it. I would the love to explore the UK more, a couple of minor problems preventing this though, I have had to stop driving and DH hates the thought of camping!
I would love to be able to make Australia. So many family members I haven't seen for 50/60 years, and some I have never met. Only my Sister and I and our families here in England. My three brothers and many other relations all went there.
My nephew who I last saw in 1963 has just started a Family Group in Facebook and I'm loving it. So many wonderful family I'm only just getting to know.
They are having a big get together soon and alas I will be here.
Oh well he is a lovely lad, ha ha he is 58 years old, but forever a lad to me, will keep me posted.
Money no object hire my own Jet and medical staff and away.
Suzy xxx
Suzy, i was thinking of going to Ayres Rock with all expenses paid. I was born here but still haven't made it to the centre. I would like to time it with rain.
google.com.au/search?q=ayer...
Interesting Bernard. you've got me wondering now if any of my family have been Ayres Rock. I will ask them. I can only think of two who maybe would go.
I would love to say meet you there but reading your link one place I think I would chicken out of.
Is there any chance you could do it? Suzy xx
I wil take that as encouragement to go! In fact I began collaborating with someone who lives in the area about doing a weekend retreat in conjunction with this organisation cleargreen.com/
Interesting at least!
Lovely post Ruby. Are you ok in the snow over there?
Faves: visiting friends in U.S. and Canada; LaMorna Cove in Cornwall; Scotland (camping almost anywhere); Northumberland. Cities: Barcelona, Berlin, Paris, Lisbon, Glasgow.
Thanks for this post, gives me hope there'll be life after this flare-up
Lots of life out there for good people like you O2 ! Glad your feeling better. Couldn't happen to a nicer person. Enjoy your trip!
Motorcycles anyone? 😊😊😊
I agree Flibberti,
How are you really doing O2?
Curious minds want to know.
Seriously, how are you?
Thelma & Louise road trip sounds great! I could go for that. Can Brad Pitt come too?
😀😁
Hello my dear friends Flibberti and Ruby: very up and down with more downs than up. Little intervals like now when breathing is hard but possible but much longer periods with terrifying spasm coughing and lanyngospasms, which is when the vocal folds close up fully or partially. The problem is the combination of severe copd, severe asthma and severe reflux and how they interact and all make each other worse during a flare-up.
When well, resting O2 is 93 without supplementary but currently Im on O2 24/7 at 4 litres and sats are only 89%. The team is being brilliant, GP was round yesterday and i can see she is concerned but wants to get me functioning again before loads of tests.
Poor Rita got flu + upper respiratory infection and is on ABs. So much stress for her - at least she's managed about 6 hours sleep. Ive been so weak she's had to get up for me if i need to pee, or having a choking fit; now she's brought her duvet in and is sleeping on the sofa across from me.
Too much info maybe but you did ask
We've done great road trips in the U.S. - Thelma and Louise is great flibberti, long as you don't end up stranded in mid-air …. not a good plan
Sending love xxx
Rest easy O2,
With all the good thoughts coming your way from all of us, things will shift your way. Alot of good Karma
headed for you. Can't you
feel it flowing through you?
Take care
feel better
Love Rubyxx 😊 😊
Oh poor you O2 I really feel for you suffering that. Lets hope the ups get more than the downs very soon. Thank goodness you aren't on your own! Love xx

Everyone is picking really Great things to do. I can't even think what
I would want to do.
No sign of spring here yet. 9 inches of snow yesterday! Enough is enough
already! You want me to send some over to you Bulpit?
Miss Ruby 😊 ☺
Ooo, you've brought back lovely memories of sailing all the Ionian Greek Islands, Corfu, Paxos, Anti Paxos, Kephalonia, Ithaka etc & right down to the Pelopennes. Also the Italian Aeolian Islands, Stromboli, Vulcano etc.
What memories
Good morning Peege, So pleased you also have such wonderful memories, Yes we sailed by Stromboli on a very hot afternoon, fantastic, It was always my husbands wish to go thru the Panama canal, unfortunately we never made it, We did however sail thru the Corinth canal between Greece and Turkey, really magic, only small ships are able to navigate it as it is so narrow,My very best wishes, Keep remembering the good times, Bulpit
If I was able I would love to walk the Great Wall of China xxx
Good morning Fred
Thats an interesting choice. Of
course, I've got to ask you why.
☺😆
Ruby I have visited and spent time in Hong Kong but have always wanted to visit old China and that wall goes through some really old parts, but now there is no chance of that happening, but we are allowed to dream. xxx
You gotta have your hopes and dreams. How are you feeling? Hope all goes well for you. Did you try Stilltruckin s brain teasers? I'm still working on the second one.
Don't think I'm used to using my brain so much! Ck. Them out. I would be interested how easy they are for you. You seem like a really bright chap Fred.
Always leave em smiling
😀😁😉
June through august is coolest, though the desert is a steange animal; hot summer days can regularly cool to near freezing at night.
Cornwall for me too, just love visiting my friend who lives in Dobwalls.
Hello Rubyred As promised reply to your mail.
In answer to your questions my tumour was 4 cm.upper right lobe ( in the best part of my lung ....sods law as the saying goes.)
However my treatment was a type of radiotherapy, its called Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy. I had not heard of it before, I had to go to Clatterbridge Cancer Hospital in Liverpool as ot many hospitals had that facility.
On the gold staging I am at stage 1V (very severe COPD ) But hey still round and about.
I think I shall get a lot from the site as I feel out on a limb from family and friends.
I thank you again Ruby red for your contact mail
Best wishes Sheila aka etch45
We have just come back from a week in my new favourite holiday place. It is in France on the Crozon Peninsular in Finistere. The coastal scenery is spectacular, there weren't queues of traffic and no heavy industry.
The best thing for me was that my uncontrolled asthma and its very annoying cough, almost disappeared after 4 days, and only returned 3 days after our return to Birmingham!
Hi Helen
Don't sound to promising for the air quality in Birmingham! Ever think of moving to France? Seems
like it would definitely help your
health. Glad you enjoyed your vacation. I would love to see France.
Rubyxx 😊
Yep, France is great. I'm spending the winter on South coast and have been so well. Think it's the lack of pollution more than the sea air. I'm from London and sadly can never live in my hometown again if I want to live a decent life.
Can you move Helen? Perhaps join Tony in Malvern?
My sister has a house in the south of France near Narbonne. We went there last year and it's beautiful. Can't move yet because we're still working, but hope to do so in a couple of years. Our plan is to move to more rural South Lakes/ North Lancs. In more healthy days we had planned to move to France, but I am now ruled by my RA, asthma and bronchiecstasis!
It was our dream to buy a holiday home in France, and then retire there. Unfortunately health issues now prevent that happening, although we do intend to continue to holiday there.
I would go to London and then visit Paris, Rome, and Greece. On a different trip I would go to Spain.
