Christmas Menu.

Just checked out todays menu below:

Breakfast. Two slices of toast with a cup of tea.

Mid morning coffee.

Lunch. Two slices of Pork and gravy, two new potatoes, portion of cauliflower and half a dozen brussels sprouts. A glass of fruit juice.

Afternoon tea. One pork sandwich with a thin slice of rich fruit cake.

Supper. One cup of cocoa.

Not a lot for the festive season but more than many people will see on their plates over the next few weeks or so.

Life never seems fair, I have the food if I'm hungry but have trouble eating it, the hungry on the other hand never have the food.

Carry on taking care as the New Year arrives, don't want too many hang overs on top of the problems that we already have. Be careful stay happy.

Allan

Hi Eightyplus, oh so true , some people with poor backgrounds including children would no doubt be over the moon to have what some of us have for Christmas. It is the unfairness of distribution of wealth. In our city which was an affluent motor industry town in it's heyday, we now have several food banks in the city. And many who rely on them are working which is a sign of the times we live in. Take care Allan and a happy new year to you

Every cloud has a silver lining as the saying goes, at least you will not be putting on all those extra pounds!

Actually the weight is bit of an issue with me, I put on three stone and am just starting to lose it after some six years.

I wanted it to go but not at the expense of never being able to enjoy the blissful taste of well cooked meals ever again.

Another stone to lay on our road of life.

I thought the menu was seriously boring...bet the cauliflower was as cold as charity...I'm sorry Alan that you couldn't have spent Christmas with us...what you didn't much care for or couldn't manage the dogs would have wolfed down and at least you'd have had roast potatoes...love and the very best of wishes xxxx

Thank you vashti I have just enjoyed the imaginary meal that you suggested and those roast potatoes were outstanding. I do think that my taste buds are gradually coming back at last so I shall be keeping my eyes open for anyone else prepared to spoon feed me. :)
