Hi Brooke,

I replied to you ( one of the many) a few days ago when you were contemplating suicide. You then posted that you had decided to see your GP the following day which would have been Monday. Your last post has been deleted so I don't know what exactly has been happening to you. I saw a little bit, when you said you were fed up as you didn't see the same doctor twice.

Have you not been offered any help at all? If you told them how you were really feeling, ( which can be difficult I know) I cannot understand why you were not referred to hospital or at the very least be seen by a community psychiatric nurse. Its really hard to advise you without knowing more details. I know how fed up I get at my practice with its never ending supply of locums, and you keep having to go over the same details all the time, and you feel that there is not one doctor who really knows you and your medical history.

If you are still having the same thoughts as you did the other day, I can only advise you to go to A&E and tell them how depressed you are and are considering taking tablets. They cannot turn you away, and will arrange for you to be seen. If there is one doctor in the practice you know and who is familiar with your history you could maybe try and get a telephone consultation.

Have you tried any of the support groups for depression? I am not necessarily talking about a forum but one where you can talk to qualified people. Forums are great as well, but you sound as if you need professional help very soon.

Please don't give up, and keep in touch and let us know how you are. You made the first step in going to see your GP and although you aren't satisfied it is a start, and unfortunately you are just going to have to be persistent although it shouldn't be that way.

All the best, and remember you have plenty of support on here, and are never alone, but you need more than that at the moment. Are you able to phone the hospital where you were a patient before and talk to someone there.

Oh! What a good giggle! Why did I think you were a male - that is interesting in itself! Maybe my head needs investigating now! Whatever, you do give excellent and caring advice and I have taken heed many, many times! Keep on writing, Huggs! I can now send you hugs and kisses! Take care, Juney

Ha ha ha. It must be the way I write! You have made my day Juney and given me a good laugh. The other day while at a hospital appointment on the mainland I decided to go to the loo. The ambulance driver pointed me in the direction of them and off I went. The sign said for women and men on the outer door, so in I go. Only to find myself in a little cubicle with no light, so I pushed open the door directly in front of me only to find myself in the gents.!! lol. Made a quick exit, and found the ladies door to the side. I am not saying whether there were any men in or not. ............oh alright then, disappointingly no men in sight. Thank goodness!!!

Thanks again for your kind words Juney.

Take care,

I am so sorry you didn't get the help you needed. I honestly don't think GPs are capable or qualified to handle psychiatric and emotional problems. This country just doesn't spend much on training psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, etc. I agree with everything everyone has said on here and I so so so wish I could pop round give you a huge hug and sit and listen to you all night. Please please try and get help....ring 999 and an ambulance will come out to you. They will then take you to A&E and try and find you help. My thoughts and prayers are very much with you and I am sorry I can't be of any help to you. Please keep posting.

Brooke please listen to the advice here and use the numbers jenss has posted. There is light even though you think not, I've been there

How are you Brooke - haven't seen a post from you for a few days . Really hope things are better for you - I know it's not the same , but I had Post -Natal depression with both my children ( quite some time ago ) & , at the time , there seemed to be no light at the end of the tunnel , but things do get better with time & the right support . Please let me know how you are , Love , Helen . x
