COPD

I have just returned from a visit to my daughter in Austria and her place is very high above sea level and I am having a difficult time with my COPD since I got back. This may be a daft question but would this trip have affected my current condition.

Sorry, I don't really know the answer. But interesting to ponder: in the old days they used to send people with lung conditions for therapy in resorts in the mountains. I always thought that the less oxygen rich air at higher levels gets the body used to tolerating slightly less oxygen/more CO. That would mean it is easier to live at "normal" see levels, and that is why people felt better and that the retreat worked on their return. So going by that theory you should actually feel better... I hope you'll feel better soon, you might have just caught a bug. Take care and my best wishes to youxx.

Thanks jenss and it was my initial thought before I went to see her but the "thin air" really caused me problems

May be worthwhile for you to see your GP to get his opinion and to get you checked over. Will you let me know what he says about the effect of stays at high altitude on lung function/disease? Cheersxx
