Hi Martam7276, My name is Olivia and I work on the BLF helpline. We do have respiratory nurses that could give advice on different lung conditions and medication over the phone. To discuss your son's medication and to get further advice about this, please feel free to call us on 03000 030 555 and ask to speak to a nurse. Take care.

hi I have been on montelukast for many years with only one problem if I take it in the morning with all my other medication I just want to fall asleep. so now I take it at night. It has been helpful for me. I hope you manage to sort things out for your son best wishes.

I was told to only take it at night & if I forget to take it never mind, just wait until the next night. No side effects (only improvement) but then I'm not a child.

Martam, please ring the BLF helpline, essential you get some expert advice for your son. Good luck. Peeg

Hello

I am so sorry to read this, and I would take him to see either your GP or your specialist and discuss the situation and ask what they can advise?

Take care

Ken

I thought montelucast was to only be taken at night- but I think you should seek help as it should not affect your child's behaviour in this way. It isn't retained in the system so withdrawing a couple of doses may see an effect, but I can't advise you to do this.
