One thing that a lot of folk don't take into account is that your spirometry levels will naturally drop with age...copd, asthma or just normal...it's part of the aging process. Another thing is the tendency not to do everything to the same level as before diagnosis and in fact some things we just no longer bother with. These little things are quite important in terms of exercise of your body and your lungs. Breathing exercises and control help to replace some facets in life that we put aside...but it is so important to exercise and eat a really good balanced diet...not just your five a day but as many varieties of colour as possible....usually the brighter the colour, the more beneficial they are...hence broccoli, carrots etc. Plus you have also got to cram in protein, carbs, and everything else that makes a good diet better. Also remeber that being sob is not necessary a bad thing..it's how you recover that matters. Top athletes train all year for their events but if they aren't sob at the end, they haven't given it their all.
