If your going to appeal court I recommend you speak to Welfare Rights, Citizens advice Bureau, a solicitor who deals with social benefits if you can still find one, first and ask them to help with your case, trying to do it alone is a mine field of legal bumf and it's become worse since Atos took over the assessment of new PIP claims, also make sure your GP and any Consultants or health care workers you are seeing are also aware of your intentions and are on board with you.

Since ATOS took over, there have been more failed GENUINE claims than ever before. Oh! and make sure you also have as much physical evidence as possible to support your claim, ie: Hospital letters / Appointments, sick notes, prescriptions, Diagnosis reports etc, the more the better.

Oh! and be prepared for a long wait, The wait now for original claims is taking up to 26 weeks not the stated 16 and appeals up to and over months.

Good Luck

We'll said I got refused couldn't even show a letter from the doctors I had thrown them away so only myself to blame :(

Do you think I should try again I have blue badges don't get DLA to old for that now?

Hi Vickyblue

yes definitely try again, but as I said get as much evidence as you can together, ask your GP for a letter stating all diagnoses', and have CAB,WELFARE RIGHTS, AGE CONCERN etc help you with the form, it really is full of pitfalls. Good luck, we both hope you have better luck this time.

All hosp letters, drugs, anything l felt needed was sent from day one. Age uk did paperwork for me, and have appointment next week to talk over what next. Thanks for ur reply, fully expect delay. However took them under a month for refusal of appeal.

Hi thank you for your reply let me know how you go on I did try for Attendance and the gentleman that came out to help me fill the forms in did say he thought i would get the day time allowance. And like i commented on the earlier comment i didn't have a thing to prove all that was going on. Between me and you i am 69 now lol.

Told him to get any records from my surgery but when i checked after i was turned down no one had asked.

Let me know how it goes for you please hope its all good news.

Going to get all my records from the doctors and try again trust me usually keep every thing

Update. Had my meeting with age.UK as to what to do. Very helpful. Not going to court and last appeal, as that can take upto a year and can only work on health issues at the time form was submitted. As my health has got worse, if l start from fresh in about a month, l can summit that as a new ground work for the dwp to work on. Age.UK will once again help me with the forms. As for the blue badge, they advised l phone them as l was borderline in March and see if l need to summit New claim. I did, and they want me to sent letter from hosp and a letter explaining my situation and will review. So thanks age.UK......maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel, although l may have to wait to see it.pays to get advice from those who know.
