I'm on antibiotics every day for life & I don't know about vitamin B, but 'live' yogurt... the probiotic stuff is what my docs told me to eat plenty of. Nothing expensive, as long as its 'live'. They say on the pots if they are. Its the 'bugs' you need!!

Thank you All, Vit b was used in the 70s when you were given antibiotics in hospital, but I do try to take live yoghurt with my daily antibiotic and do not have any problems.

That's interesting hun - I have never been given vit b in any hospital from 1940s onwards. Do you think it helped you?

I too have live yoghurt daily. I get extra large pots of YeoValley from supermarket. It's live and organic. When on antibiotics I too take acidophilus daily and at least a month afterwards - from H&B.

Don't know about Vit B for stomach (Google it?), however, I take B12 for my lungs daily.

I was advised any sort of probiotic so I use Actimel which comes in different flavours.

I buy probiotics and prebiotics combined from Healthspan (reasonable prices and good quality) KatieJJ

Thank you all for kind replies, I will be getting some live yoghurt.

Think the NHS would not give it now due to cost, they also used to give Guinness to elderly patients !!!!

Think I will try the probiotic on my husband he is really poorly at the moment has been in hospital for over two weeks on antibiotics for 24/7 for 8 days and they sent him home, and he is so poorly now with an upset stomach hasn't been able to hardly eat anything and doctors don't want to know said that his upset stomach is probably due to the antibiotics. He is getting so down and weak with it all and is on three different antibiotics and nebulized antibiotics as well just don't know what to do for him, and they have also started him on home oxygen so he is trying to get used to that as well.

Dear badham, sorry to hear about your husband, I have started taking natural yoghurt as suggested by some members of forum, and I must say I feel better after less than one day.

Hope things work out for you and hubby feels better soon.
