Evening everyone.
After rehab this morning we decided to have a drive out, so had a very nice but slightly chilly jaunt to Herne Bay for a walk along the front and then to Whistable which is like stepping back 50 years. Perfect. I do hope that sea air did my lungs some good, I'm exhausted now but in a good way.

I am glad too you enjoyed your day so much. There is nothing like sea air and a walk to make you tired in a good way is there? I live by the sea and often, like today, take the dog out to the beach. She loves swimming for her ball which is just as well as yesterday she rolled in something very nasty and is now nice and clean again! x
I haven't been to either of those places for years, bet they are just the same as when I was a teenager.

Hi Kimmy, glad you enjoyed your drive. I live there and walked to my allotment yesterday. Even with the oxygen it felt particularly hard and I noticed that the sea's horizon was very misty, often a sign of pollution. And yet when i googled bbc's weather site, the pollution in the south east was low. It sounds like it did you a power of good so probably i was just having a bad day. Glad yours was good, take care 
The sea was misty today too. But on the Swalecliffe side, the air was pure! Just come back from the gym where I do gentle exercises to try to recover from this bug.

Seeing as saline solution is used in nebulisers to help clear mucus, I would have thought the salt in the sea air may do the same thing. Any excuse to got to the beach !
True Puff but it's the dampness of living by the seaside which causes the problem. Lots of sea mists and things

True. I live on the east coast which is more damp than the south coast where I used to live and still visit. I always breathe a lot better on the south coast.
I was in Folkestone on Sunday. Lovely fresh air. Pity that it has been allowed to run down so much though - I understood it was undergoing a refurb but saw little evidence of it. I guess that, as it is no longer a port, it has been forgotten. Not much open either but could still walk DOWN The Leas - got the funicular back up though! Was brought up in Kent so enjoy a nostalgic trip every so often. Can't beat sea air. Whitstable here I come next!
I agree. Living anywhere near the sea is good. I'm about 5 minutes walk from the sea. I often spend time on the Broads as well. Lovely fresh air !
HI, Kimmy, I live in Swalecliffe. i don't go to the sea front very often, I get too cold. But i do go to the Swimming pool, at the gym actually in Whitstable. I'm glad of the 50 years ago feeling. It's a pleasant place to live. Fancy a rooibos tea sometime? Mike.
I have the good fortune to live by the sea. I have not always lived here but have always been drawn to the sea. I love it and would be lost without it as I have lived here for 23 years. I see the sea in all its moods and am in awe of its power and beauty. I have managed to take a number of sunsets and if I knew how to put them on this site I would. I am delighted that you had a good day at the sea Kimmy, there is nothing like a sea breeze to blow away the cobwebs. I would recommend it for anyone. Take care, hugs xx
sunsets here are immensely beautiful Turner painted them from Margate. Mind you, I heard that the golden colour is due to London pollution! yet, I feel the sea air here is really good. There's a protected, special algae that enhances the lung function. come on lads, Breathe in the enhancing algae!
If you type in justseaweed.com and look for where it says to contact on Isle of Bute, you will find our seaweed and kelp production. Hi Mick, I must plead ignorance here and admit to not knowing where swalecliffe is! However, I will look it up and feed my brain cells in the process. I am glad you have lovely sunsets to look at, as I find myself mesmorised by them. They are very calming and bring a feeling of peace I find.
So what about this super algae then? Why are you not packaging it up and selling it to us all?!!!! There is actually a business on the island that collects algae and sells them. Hi Kim, I am totally jealous of you, We used to live that end of the country, and thought we would move to midlands were we could get around better because its so flat here, what a mistake, We used to do a day out at Whitstable and miss having it on the doorstep We used to walk from Tankerton along the to Whistable and have tea and a rest on top of the hill, Thank you for the memories, Best Wishes Mogworth,
