We must just hang in there and hope this spam is sortable. This website is a life line to many of us. It is the first thing I check on everyday. I do not question or comment much but learn from others. Whoever is sorting, good luck and thank you.

The problems going on here can be sorted completely within an hour. I run a website and many thousands of spam email have been stopped since I started it five years ago. And not one has got through. Quite simply this is one of the worse organizations I have ever come across and it seems there is know one at the helm....

Look, for many people a diagnosis of COPD or any other lung condition seems initially to be a death sentence.

One of the many positive things about this site is hearing from people about their achievements. These have included doing household chores, walking the dog (which I can't manage properly), climbing the Malvern hills (what an achievement), travelling abroad (I live in hope) ... the list goes on.

Posts like these show that there is life after diagnosis. Seeing what other people can achieve is a recipe for hope.

Other posts are from people celebrating things which give them pleasure. Family matters, music, painting, scenery are all things which people write about. I'm happy to read about these things; it gives me a sense of community despite living on my own.

People who are confused or bemused by their medication or by their experiences of the medical profession can expect a sensible and supportive explanation, which must have set many a mind at rest.

Our benefit system with all its forms and procedures is another challenge. Once again, advice and other people's experiences are very supportive.

Humour has its place in making life just that little bit more pleasant.

All the above and more show that this is a good place to be. I don't think anybody loses sight of what we have in common - lungs which in one way or another don't fully function.

If I don't want to read a post I just skip it.

Mind you, if there are many more adverts for Indian astrologers I'll be tempted to explode!

Hi WeymouthJohn, I don't usually get involved in disputes like these, but I just had to say that I fully agree with you. Well said. Cheryl

You couldn't of put it better it would be a very sad and depressing forum without life's chat lots of people live alone ( I'm the same as you john) and enjoy news and a bit of fun as well as help and support with their conditions. X

Well said John, I know how upset I was until I found this site, I don't post very often but I do visit everyday to read posts. As you say, it isn't just the practical advice that I look forward to, it's the humour and achievements of other members and I love the fact that other members are so willing to help. (Usually lol) Julie x

Well, can only think it's better getting no emails than getting potentially dangerous spam. Andy
