That`s some fence that needs mending. I`m sat here now with the wind gusting and howling. Its frightening and half expect to hear tiles from the roof crashing down. Still rather that than the house being flooded like some poor people.

Hi Jane and susieQs, can't understand why it didn't take the little bit in the middle. Took the first half up to the middle bit a while back, then the rest that you can see in the picture gone today. When the boy got home, out came the chain saw, so now I have a shed full of kindling for my fire. Oh well I'll be warm. Needless to say I got a lecture on how to put a fence up properly, and who not to use. Not going to mention the word fence to him for a while. Hope you are both ok, and not too troubled by the bad weather.

Ps. Jane the picture was taken on my birthday weekend, at Camelot castle hotel, in Tintagel. A black tie dinner for twenty one of my close friends.

Hi jane. Cannot believe the state of all of us with the wind rain ect. Just went out to take dog and there's another fence down to the side of the garages. Several moments of power cuts, it's on it's off. I had to laugh, my son went for a shower and he was inn and out several times, in unison with the power going on and off. I said he was like one of those weather clocks, where the lady comes out one side and then the man with the brolly. Do you remember.know what I mean.? The boy thought I was mad when I tried to explain that to him. Roll on the summer. Let's hope tomorrow will be better. Please.

You bought back memories with the weather clock ha ha!

Just glad you saved the fence for firewood,at least you'll stay warm, wouldent be putting a new fence up,till the weather settles, had a good chuckle imagining your son with the shower!! xxx

No damage for me, thank goodness, but the electricity went out several times and the concentrator alarm kept going off!

As for why the middle bit was not blown off, I think I have an explanation, of sort. When the wind blows it buffers the fence on one side, but on the other side, it creates a void, and the fence is then sucked out with much more strength as there is nothing to stop it. It may be that the wind goes around some of it and not another part. There you are! :-)

You could well be right helping mic, the fence is not going back up again, that one is destined for kindling to light the fire now. The most expensive she'd full of kindling too. You take care in this weather.
