Since starting oxygen therapy my nose bleeds all the time. I am on 2 litres 18 hours daily. I need something to stop the scabbing in my nose

I cannot use nose sprays at this I am told interferes with my heart meds. Is there some sort of cream other than Vaseline.

Hiya Granny. This is not a joke but lots of people use KY jelly. It is water based and a lot gentler on the nose,

I had this problem bad when I started using oxygen, 5Lpm x 16hrs, but it seems to have calmed down now and there is less bleeding/crusting. Someone told me KY but I didn't like the smell so I buy one over the counter from the chemist - Neilmed Nasogel. Expensive though you only need a little.

I have this problem. K Y jelly works for me. When my oxygen use was upped to 15 hours I began to get a bleeding nose and then also had days when I would constantly sneeze and my nose ran like a tap. Thought I must have an allergy. Discovered that using KY daily stopped all problems. The nasal passages stopped drying out.

I had this problem but found Saltinaire saline spray works for me.

Where did you get the saltinaire spray jojam?

The oxygen delivery was changed to humidified when I had this problem. That came with its own problems and needed sterile water to be prescribed. I had a cold after about one month, and went back to non-humidified, and was fine.

I too was told K Y jelly, could not find it near the Vaseline and had to ask. Went a bit pink when I was shown where it was!
