Not on it, but if your O2 is low at certain levels it can affect all sorts of organs. So by being on O2 to get your levels to normal cannot be a bad thing.

I was put on O2 when in hospital as mine had dropped and set the alarms off. While I was on it I must admit I felt improved.

I can usually tell when I need to put my oxygen back on as I start having lots of black spots that look like midges in front of me. These go shortly after starting my oxygen again.

I am on oxygen therapy myself....I do wonder about side effects too but it helps me and I worry more about the effects of low oxygen on my other organs in my body. It seems to be worries all around folks.

I am on oxygen 15 hrs a day and went for an eye test on Friday last, I now have to have new glasses because the fact that I thought my glasses weren't right anymore was because my eyesight had improved and they were too strong. I'm not saying it is the oxygen, you can make up your own minds! Keep smiling.
