Hi - welcome to the site! My husband still has both taste and smell - so couldn't say if it was connected to the copd. Perhaps a call to the blf helpline could clarify. Take care, TAD xx

just been in hospital was given steroids and had no taste for one day so could be caused by steriods

My wife says she has no taste....she says look who she married. Sorry and welcome. I've only had short spells of no taste and like others, when steroids are used. Strange, the only thing I can taste then, is the horrible steroids.

yes, I had this for quite sometime, no taste and nose no smell. But as I took Clarythromycin and Rifampicin for 2 and a half years and started again, The sense of smell has come back! I really don't know why!

Hi Mckechin. I have asthma and suffer from Rhinnitis. I used to lose my sense of smell quite often. The Drs gave me some Nasacort a spray for up your nose. It was given in the first instance for a polyp but after using it for a while I found I can now smell all the time.
