Best time to take medication

I am curious when the best time to take certain medications like allergy tablets, nasals sprays and acid reflux medication might be, to maximise the effect during the night for nocturnal asthma.

My instinct tells me it would be best to take these right before bed at the same time as the asthma medication preventer or tablets, but is it possible that taking these an hour or 2 earlier might be benneficial to counteract evening pollen dropping?

For GERD tablets they are also preventative. I have found these more effective right before my evening meal, compared to taking them just before bed.

I wondered if anyone else had any experiences experimenting with timings like this?

Thanks

Hi James. I can’t answer your question directly, buy yes, I have played around with the timing of my meds. I take my Lanzoprozole in the evening about 8 depending when I have eaten. (I leave it 2 hours minimum after I have eaten.) I have a Flixonase nasal spray that I take an hour or two before bed. Antihistamines I take in the morning, not in the evening as is sometimes recommended.

At the end of the day, I think it is what suits you best.
