Luforbec

Hi I had a chest infection early November and as part of that was issued an new inhaler. Luforbec 11/6 to be taken twice a day. Previous to that I just used the Blue one when my chest was tight and the Brown one daily. The Brown was fairly new also.

I have been experiencing though mood swings, slight tremors, a cough, light headedness and jut a feeling of being unwell that I cant put my finger on. I have even had a racing heart, palpations and anxiety. I did not take my dose last night or this Morning and feel a touch better. The side effects of this drug, at least online, can be what I am experiencing. Has anyone experienced the same and does it get better ? Looking back maybe the Brown one also had some of these effects also.

Thanks in advance.

I would ring the helpline Friday morning before they go off for Xmas, 0300 2225800. Or have a chat with your own medic.

If you are not taking your prescribed inhalers it is always a little concerning.

I was recently changed from Fostair to Luforbec ( it’s to save the NHS money) - started having some side effects with Luforbec such as headaches, a thickining feeling in the throat and slight tremor!…I have been put back on Fostair which I have no problem with!..Depending on what inhalers have been prescribed for you in particular, you need to see your asthma nurse/doctor and explain what you are experiencing,, There is a different acid in Luforbec to Fostair, although the main ingredients are the same!…Luforbec has maelic acid and Fostair has hydrocloric acid,,

Hi Lubfec is actually the generic of Fostair and if you check the history of messages on the forum and you'll find a lot of people using lubfec have had problems, I'm on Fostair 100/6 and it's been a game changer for me, in the 27 years since being diagnosed with Asthma it has the only inhaler that has controlled my Asthma. My doctors did attempt to transfer me onto lubfec as it was all about saving £8 on each device sold, but I stood my ground and remained on Fostair, so it might be worth asking to try out Fostair
