Duoresp spiromax

Hi there,

I am on seretide evohaler 250 x 4 and recently added on spiriva respimat and montelukast (which have been a game changer in stablising things) after worsening chronic asthma. Am in process of getting comprehensive lung tests under a a consultant. He suggested to stay on seretide high dose until my asthma improves significantly. He suggested I try duoresp spiromax as a reliever instead of ventolin, with a view to replacing seretide also in the future if I wanted to.

I tried it one day when I was a bit chesty in damp weather. I had a really bad reaction in seconds. Tight chest, I could breath but it felt constricted and felt like I was not getting enough air. I also got cramps in my hands and my forehead began to twitch. It was frightening and very uncomfortable. The effects lasted for at least eight hours. I needed to take ventolin later on as (I think) it brought on an attack and I noticed an immediate improvement afterwards.

I know different inhalers affect people in different ways. I have never posted before but thought it worthwhile in case anyone has similar experience. I'll let my GP and consultant know but certainly won't try this inhaler again. Best of luck everyone!

Thanks for the information backspinner. I didn't realise that medications could have such side effects. Hope you get something else to help you. Brian

I get minor attacks from fostair 100 if I take it during an asthma attack.

For me the only things I can safely take during an attack are ventolin or salamol.

Hi, sorry to hear you have gone through all this. I personally find Salamol works best for me when I am struggling. I have had no issues with Fostair 100 which I take morning and evening. Hope this helps.
