I was offered Forstair as a replacement to my old inhalers as had a bad asthma attack bought on by a chest infection. I was told to take 2 doses twice a day. Within a day of taking it my hands started shaking, I suffered extreme anxiety. I then read the side effects on this forum and realised it was the Fostair. Am going to stop taking it and go back to my old inhalers!

Hi, sorry to hear you haven't got on too well with the Fostair so far. Please discuss with your GP or asthma nurse what to do next, as your old inhalers may not be the best for you if you had a bad attack on them. (Though the chest infection obviously won't have helped!) Fostair isn't the only option apart from the ones you were on.

You could also call the asthma nurses on the helpline here to chat through your options and what to ask the GP/asthma nurse about when you see them: 0300 2225800 or WhatsApp 07378 606 728 Monday-Friday 0915-5pm

Hello!

I had exactly the same thing with Fostair - tried it for a month but it really wasn't worth the shaking it caused, especially when taken just before bed!!

As Lysistrata says, it's still best to discuss it with your GP or asthma nurse before making any changes.

Good luck - I hoep you manage to find something which suits!

Helpful comments already posted - cannot stress enough to seek advice re the Fostair don't suddenly stop any medication without discussing it first with your GP etc.I am lucky have been on Fostair for many years without a problem.

I do hope that you get sorted soon let us know how you get on x

Hi. I was moved to Fostair from Flixotide about a year and a half ago and struggled with the shakes for a few months. I was also getting leg cramps during sleep but have been taking Magnesium which some say helps. Glad to say that for the past few months I’ve been fine. Please speak to your GP but it may be that if you carry on, your body may get used to it. Best of luck

I found the shaking hands do stop after after awhile. Maybe they could start you on a lower dose so side effects aren't as bad ? Definitely speak to your asthma team!
